“Aqua Heaven, Party Fantastic”

Great complex - very Spanish, great event nights, perfect hotel for RIU Party events thx great rooms, food, drinks pools and staff. Not far from airport, great excursions especially Saona Island, so beautiful! Buggy rides was great, we had a fantastic time thx.

I was worried after reading some reviews before I travelled as I was a solo traveller but I arrived, found my room , it was a nice room , great air con and clean, balcony a little small but it was ok, shower was amazing and bar adequate, bed was very comfy and pillows but cold with air con so I mainly used the ceiling fan at night. I found the food amazing and ate at mamawhanas most days , I did try the speciality restaurants and they were also great, except the Mexican , that was awful, not Mexican at all , I am a chef at home and enjoy all foods but some of the dishes , being Dominican were just not for me so I chose mainly fresh fish (beautiful choices) and fresh bread and salad , i never went hungry , drinks not bad at all and I found the staff helpful and lovely, especially Jilson who looked after me most days . My nights were broken with the noice of young guests returning from the party vibe , this was disturbing and disrespectful for other guests sleeping so not the hotels fault but I think they should think about putting all the younger guests together and us more mature guests further away but just my opinion, all in all I had a lovely week at the RIU Bambu , thanks guys The TUI bar and beach area was also a great advantage for me .

The resort itself is beautiful and the location is ideal. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here but there were a few things that left a bad taste in our mouths, mostly concerning the service and the staff. First, we were woken up by the phone ringing at 8am for the first two days we were here. We still have no idea what the calls were for. Second, we quickly learned that if we did bot put the “do not disturb” sign on the outside of our door at night, the staff would just let themselves into our rooms in the morning (while we were still in bed) to deliver water, pop, coffee etc for the room. Don’t get me wrong, it nice to be stocked up but we were VERY uncomfortable with the staff just opening the door to our room with no warning. This should not be allowed, and they should have just left the stuff outside of the door. The food and entertainment we pretty good overall. There is a pool side restaurant/buffet that is very casual. I went in for lunch one day in a bathing suit, with a towel wrapped around my body and was told that I could r get food with a towel on. I would have had no problem with this at all except that I was the only one told not to be in there dressed this way even though I could clearly see many other women in bathing suits walking around without being spoken to. There was also no dress code posted anywhere, and the buffet is right beside the pool. Lastly, this isn’t necessarily to do with the RIU Bambu, but with the casino at one of the other RIUs. Ourselves and another couple went to the black Jack table, and all took a seat. We were told that only the people betting could sit down at the table, the other woman was very pregnant and the person running the table was very rude about making her stand. I would have maybe understood if the place was busy or there were other people wanting to play but there was maybe 5 other people in the whole place besides us. To me, it was disrespectful the way she was treated. Overall, the resort is everything you can expect from a typical all inclusive. Our biggest issue was the staff entering our room without notice, in the morning. Our doors were locked but I guess they have a key as well.
