If you are looking for a lively, family-oriented resort right by the Red Sea that won't break the bank, this place has a lot to offer, though it does have a few quirks to keep in mind. 🌊 The Grounds & Beach. The territory is huge, very green, and exceptionally well-kept. Gardeners are out there every morning tending to the lawns and flowers, which gives the resort a lovely tropical feel. The Beach: The hotel has a nice sandy beach with plenty of sun loungers and windbreakers. The entry to the water is gentle and shallow, which is fantastic for families with kids. The Pier: There is a long wooden pier that leads out to the deeper water—this is the absolute best spot for snorkeling! We brought our own masks and saw some incredible colorful fish and coral formations right off the end of the pier. 🛏️ Room & Comfort. We booked a standard room with a partial sea view. It was quite spacious and clean, with traditional Egyptian-style wooden furniture. The king-size bed was surprisingly comfortable, and we slept very well. Housekeeping visited every day, leaving fun towel art (swans and hearts) on the bed, which always made us smile. Just a quick tip: the rooms in some blocks are a bit older and could use a cosmetic refresh, but everything—from the air conditioning to the plumbing—worked perfectly during our stay. 🍽️ Food & Drinks. As a FUN&SUN FAMILY concept hotel, the food options are varied and tailored well to different tastes. Main Restaurant: We never went hungry. There was always a solid selection of grilled meats and fish, fresh vegetables, delicious Egyptian pastries, and a good variety of fruits. The live-cooking stations at dinner (pasta and grilled items) were especially popular. A la Carte: We tried the Mediterranean restaurant one evening included in our package, and it was a nice change of pace from the main buffet. Bars: The beach bar and pool bar were our daily go-to spots for iced coffee, fresh local cocktails, and afternoon snacks like pizza and fries. 🏊 Pools & Activities. Pools: There are multiple pools, including a heated one and a pool with waterslides. We spent most of our afternoons relaxing by the main pool. Entertainment: The animation team is energetic without being pushy. They host morning stretching, aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, and evening shows in the amphitheater. Since it’s a family-oriented concept, there are tons of activities for kids, but adults without children (like us) still found plenty of space to relax in peace. Stepping away from the hotel topic for a moment, I honestly have to recommend the Sheriff Egypt excursion agency, which you can easily find online by name. Their prices are much lower than what the hotel guides charge, and the quality is top-notch. We booked a small-group trip to Cairo (limited to just eight people) with a private guide, and it was an incredible experience—so much more personal than a massive bus tour. We also did the boat trip to Orange Bay (Hula Hula Island), and the yacht was brand new and spotless. Special shout-out to the guides, who spoke fluent English and were fantastic throughout. Highly recommended! ✨ Final Thoughts. Bellagio Beach Resort & SPA offers amazing value for money. The Red Sea views at sunset from the pier are unforgettable, and the staff genuinely try their best to make sure every guest feels welcome. It’s a solid 4-star-plus resort with a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We left feeling fully recharged and happy with our choice!

We had the best holiday, but is this hotel really 5-star? In our opinion, absolutely not. Our first room was very disappointing. It was dirty, had broken fixtures, and was nowhere near the standard you would expect from a 5-star hotel. To be fair, the reception team dealt with our complaint quickly and moved us to a different room the following day, which was a huge improvement. Overall, there are many areas of the hotel that are in need of updating and refurbishment. It’s clear work has already started, as building and maintenance work was being carried out during our stay. Having this happen in the middle of peak season was inconvenient, and there was also a construction site next door that we weren’t informed about before arriving. One of the biggest disappointments for us was the pier. It was closed and unusable throughout our stay, meaning guests couldn’t access it at all. This was a real shame, especially as it’s one of the hotel’s advertised features and something we had been looking forward to using. The evening entertainment was another let-down and didn’t meet the standard you’d expect from a 5-star resort. The staff, however, were fantastic. Every member of the team was friendly, welcoming, and couldn’t do enough to help. They really are a credit to the hotel. It’s just a shame that not all of the guests showed the same level of courtesy. The food was good, with plenty of choice at every meal, so there was always something to eat. However, the all-inclusive offering could definitely be improved. For example, there was only one place for children to get ice cream, which meant they had to dry off, get dressed, and go indoors every time they wanted one. A better layout would have made this much more convenient. We’ve stayed in many 5-star hotels over the years, and unfortunately this one doesn’t meet that standard. We wouldn’t return. That said, we had an amazing holiday with our group, made wonderful memories, and chose to look past the hotel’s shortcomings to enjoy our time together.
