Amazing!!! Great experience. It was our second time at Caves Beach Resort, and we are planning on coming back this year. Thanks to the staff and theme, it was a unique experience. Definitely worth it.

Great hotel, all the entertainment team are lovely and very helpful. The bar staff are lovely and good. The lifeguard is also very lovely and helpful with everything. Rooms are amazing. It is located right on the beach and only 30 mins from the marina. There multiple pools with all different atmospheres, one chilled, one loud, one that’s a bit of both. Everything is generally quiet by about 11pm but still good fun. Probably the best hotel I’ve ever stayed.

“Not Quite Luxury, Definitely An Experience”

This is a surprisingly difficult review to write because, hand on heart, for the money we paid, it's hard to complain too loudly. We booked through EasyJet Holidays and everything from the flights to the transfers ran exactly as it should. No drama, no chaos, no mystery coach tours of Hurghada. A strong start. The hotel itself is... unique. We chose it because it was adults-only and all-inclusive, and we wanted a straightforward girls' holiday over half term with sunshine, cocktails and minimal decision-making. The cave theme is certainly memorable. For the first couple of hours it's very much "Oh, this is cool." After that, however, one does begin to wonder why a Flintstones-inspired cave resort is adults-only. If anything, children would probably lose their minds with excitement. But perhaps that's a question for another day. There are plenty of glowing reviews on here already, so rather than repeating them, I'll focus on the things that slightly grated. None of these were deal-breakers, but they're worth knowing before you book. 1. All Inclusive... but only in the broadest interpretation If you're all-inclusive, surely you're all-inclusive? The Wi-Fi doesn't extend to the rooms unless you pay extra. Not the end of the world for us as we'd bought unlimited eSIMs before travelling, which worked out considerably cheaper than the hotel's upgrade package. What puzzled us more was the number of paid add-ons once you're already there. The Monday night beach party, for example, came with an additional charge, despite being part of the wider resort entertainment offering. We appreciate special events may sit outside the standard package, but it did contribute to the feeling that "all-inclusive" occasionally came with an asterisk. 2. The smoking: Good lord. I appreciate different countries have different attitudes towards smoking, but it genuinely became difficult to eat a meal without being enveloped in a cloud of cigarette smoke. Perhaps we've become conditioned by years of smoke-free restaurants in the UK, but it felt surprisingly intrusive. What made it stranger was that the overwhelming majority of guests appeared to be British, yet there seemed to be very little awareness/consideration of how much the smoke affected neighbouring tables. 3. Vegetarian dining requires commitment One of our group is vegetarian, and whilst nobody expected a dedicated vegan wellness retreat, the options were fairly repetitive. Think chips, pasta, salad, chips, salad, pasta and, if fortune smiled upon you, a vegetable side dish. A small note for the hotel: chicken and fish are not vegetarian options. 4. Entertainment: Butlins after dark Entertainment is always subjective, so take this with a pinch of salt. Some guests absolutely loved it. Others, ourselves included, found it unintentionally entertaining. One particular show seemed determined to reverse several decades of progress for women, while karaoke nights featured enough Oasis tributes to make you wonder whether Manchester had quietly annexed part of Egypt. The overall vibe was very much "1970s Butlins after three energy drinks". Some guests were living their best lives. 5. The relentless upselling This was probably the most irritating aspect of the stay. The entertainment and spa teams are incredibly persistent when it comes to selling massages, beach parties and nightclub events. And by persistent, I mean Olympic-level persistence. We watched guests explain they didn't have any money on them, only to be told they could go back to their room and get some. Phone numbers were routinely collected so follow-up sales pitches could continue throughout the holiday. A gentle offer is one thing. A full-scale recruitment drive is another. 6. Finding somewhere to sit down For a hotel of this size, the seating around the main bars felt surprisingly limited. During peak evening periods it wasn't unusual to struggle to find a table or even a chair, with many guests resorting to sitting on poolside sun beds simply because there was nowhere else available. The good bits? It would be unfair not to acknowledge what the hotel does well. The weather was glorious, the pools were lovely, the cave theme is certainly different, and overall the holiday represented very good value for money. The staff were generally friendly and hardworking, and the resort itself is visually impressive when you first arrive. The room servicing was inconsistent. Our towels were rarely replaced and cleaning often didn't happen until after 3pm, although other people in our group had much better experiences. Food was perfectly acceptable for a week, but I suspect anything longer would have resulted in us exploring local restaurants. Drinks were fine, although the white wine fell firmly into the category of "technically wine", and familiar premium brands came with an additional charge. Overall Would we return? Probably not. Did we enjoy ourselves? Yes. Would we recommend it to friends looking for a cheap week of sunshine? Also yes. The Caves feels a bit like that friend who is tremendous fun on a night out but occasionally makes some baffling life choices. There is a lot to like here: great weather, decent pools, good value and a genuinely unique setting. Equally, there are enough quirks, upsells and odd omissions that you leave wondering how close it came to being really good. Bring an eSIM, pack some patience, embrace the cave aesthetic, and if you're hoping for luxury, this probably isn't it. If you're looking for sunshine, a laugh, and a holiday that won't bankrupt you, you'll likely have a very good week.
