Before I tell you about the hotel, I wanted to tell you about a man who works there called Waleed. Waleed works the night shift and so for many of you, you may never encounter him, but not only is he a credit to the Fort Arabesque team but he is a special human being, so sincerely kind and so compassionate, he should be talked about first. There was a few issues with my room on the night of arrival, and at 3 o'clock in the morning, I had a bit of a meltdown. Ali, who is on reception due to that night, and Waleed were both so wonderful and responsive to my needs- patient, kind and caring. I was suffering some health issues and they were GREAT. Not only did they help me move to a wonderful room, but it was the way in which they did it that is really deserving of singling them out. So professional, but also kind human beings . It really takes dedicated staff and compassionate people to deal with a woman having a meltdown at 3 am. I can't thank them enough. They transformed my experience. So I'm not going to moan about the initial room, because that's firmly in the past but it's about the excellence five star service, andThe decent and honourable staff. That is what makes a hotel really special. I did ask guest relations to pass on my thanks to the top manager in the hotel to the Night Shift staff on duty on the night of the 23rd of June in the West Bay, but just in case the general manager did not get that message. I'm making sure that it's in this review. What a fantastic Night Shift team. There was one other man present who helped, but I didn't catch his name and I haven't seen him since so I haven't been able take a photo of him but I am posting photos of Waleed and Ali. The West Bay is wonderful, I have a beautiful room with a lovely balcony and an incredible view, a mini bath stocked with water and drinks. The food is amazing and I'm hugely impressed that a hotel can manage soft scrambled creamy eggs for breakfast. Every meal has been fantastic. The baba ghanouj is out of this world, I could live on that alone, fresh flatbreads, rolls with black onion seed tahini beautiful yoghurt with cucumber and parsley, there are so many choices particularly if you eat meat, but plenty to keep the vegetarians like me happy. There is not a single aspect of this hotel that I would fault, the gardens are beautifully kept, although where the gardeners are I don't know I haven'tseen them but they do a fantastic job. Everything is so beautiful. I've been mainly at the beach because I love snorkelling, although the water is so clear you don't even have to snorkel to see the fish, you can just look down. For me that is heaven. There is stress filled scramble for beach beds or pool side beds, there are plenty, absolutely plenty of spaces, so don't feel that you need to up early and put your towel on a bed you will have loads to choose from. Have a lion, have a gentle late start ofthe day with a fantastic breakfast and you'll still find a sunbed to lay on with plenty of parasols. If I had a bit more money I wouldlike to book a special sunbed in the front row at the beach, it's well worth it. I think it's about €25 a day but theygive you a cool box full of drinks as well, and you get an amazing view but, I don't have the money so I'm in the third row but I'm very very happy anyway. Plenty of beach bars to choose from surf snacks, not that I've had to have a snack because I'm filled up with the delicious food at breakfast, lunch and supper. They also have ice cream, the West Bay is also only so you don't have to deal with screaming children, unless of course you have screaming children in which case good luck. I 100% intend on coming back here, and I'm gonna ask for the specific room number 362 which I highly recommend. I haven't tried the Greek restaurant yet but we intend to do that today, there is also an Italian restaurant a barbecue pit and a couple of other restaurants. I chose this specific hotel because I'm a very keen snooker and in this hotel you enter the water directly from the beach, and the coral is dotted about. I would however say this and this isn't for the hotel but for the tourists, for goodness sake do not stand on the coral, what kind of idiot thinks it's appropriate to stand on coral?? And yet such idiots exist, do not kill this beautiful natural wonder. Thank you to everyone at the hotel, and the lovely guest relation woman who rang me the following day. Thank you to all the kitchen staff for producing such incredible food and such an array of choice, I do not want to hear a complaint that you normally get at hotels about people saying they're bored of the food, because the choice is huge and very varied and there is not a single human being on this planet who opens their fridge at home and has thiskind of choice to choose from. There is so many little places where you can sit and have a coffee or a cold drink in the shade , comfortable chairs. Comfortable beds. It is a beautiful resort, but ultimately a hotel was succeed or fail on the quality of its staff, and here the fort arabesque is worthy of a five star rating on the basis of the fantastic Night Shift staff alone, but also the lovely young man who works in the patisserie bar, I should do another post with his name and more photos of the hotel at the end of the stay.

“Absolutely Amazeballs.....we'll be back”

Today our 12 day honeymoon comes to an end. Can honestly say this is the best hotel I've ever been to in Egypt and I've been to a fair few. Today our 12 day honeymoon comes to an end. Can honestly say this is the best hotel I've ever been to in Egypt and I've been to a fair few. The swim up villas are amazing as is the food in all restaurants. The beach is out of this world with the most amazing coral reefs....didn't get to see the turtle but we did a big Ray and Moray eel. Did a few excursions but just wow the dolphin house....got to swim with wild dolphins in the sea! Last but not least the staff, what can I say......from the cleaners to the gardeners, waiters and every single person that we met, you are all the kindest, friendliest and most helpful people we could wish to meet. It's not goodbye, it's see you soon because we will most definitely be back ❤️

“I was so looking forward to staying at this hotel”

We arrived 2 a.m after a delay in Manchester .We checked in and they put us in the family side . I had paid over £200 extra to stay in the west wing . The receptionist said don't worry you can use all the facilities in the other area . I explained that my husband had a back injury and couldn't walk… more

We arrived 2 a.m after a delay in Manchester .We checked in and they put us in the family side . I had paid over £200 extra to stay in the west wing . The receptionist said don't worry you can use all the facilities in the other area . I explained that my husband had a back injury and couldn't walk far but the receptionist insisted that the West wing was over booked and we may get a room available next week . I was fuming and contacted tui straight away the hotel said that I was in the correct room but I emailed my booking form over and they said they would sort it .The next morning a room was available after 12 noon in the other area , but we wasted our first morning we couldn't go to far because of my husband's injury. The other thing that annoyed me was the other couple waiting behind us gave the receptionist their passport with a large tip and they were upgraded to the west wing sea view that night . When I chatted with them a few days later they said they were repeat guests and if you don't tip you won't get the room you paid for originally. All this left a bad taste in my mouth especially since I was so looking forward to The holiday. After the second day we did enjoy ourselves Mamon in the quiet pool was amazing and looked after us well . Mustafa the life guard spoilt us both, nothing was too much trouble for him . The restaurant staff were lovely. And the beach was amazing . I wouldn't return to this hotel as I am in the Facebook group and overbooking is normal which is so disappointing.
