The beach is excellent, with a very gently sloping entrance into the sea. In the morning the water is only about a meter deep even several meters from the shore, and it becomes even shallower in the afternoon. Thanks to the lack of real waves (there are only small ripples on the surface) and the overall shallow depth, the water is beautifully clear and on sunny days turns into that perfect turquoise‑green shade you would expect in the Caribbean. You can comfortably swim in the morning, although it becomes more difficult later in the day. A 250‑meter pier leads to the drop‑off, where the depth suddenly reaches several meters and you can snorkel and observe marine life. The rooms are clean by Egyptian standards, though the hotel itself is clearly older. The garden is beautifully maintained and full of flowers, and the pool is large and pleasant. During the first week of May the occupancy was quite low, so there were plenty of free sunbeds both by the pool and on the beach—no early‑morning towel battles. Lifeguards watch over both the pool and the sea. If you want to leave the hotel beach, you must sign a form stating that you do so at your own risk. In reality, there is nothing around the hotel anyway, so there isn’t much reason to wander off. The only thing that truly disappointed us was the food. I have never seen such a small selection combined with such low quality. The breakfast pastries were stale and hard. Sausages, cold cuts, and cheese looked questionable at best. The pancake batter was neither suitable for pancakes nor for proper thick fritters. Desserts were essentially the same sponge cake every day with different toppings, plus caramelized bananas at dinner. The attempt at pizza for lunch wasn’t terrible, but the meat options were limited to chicken wings, small pieces of beef, or fish every other day—fish from the grill were always completely burnt. The mashed potatoes were clearly made from powder mixed with water, without milk or butter, and were inedible. Milk rice appeared only once during the whole week; otherwise there were vermicelli in milk or oats drowned in milk (with maybe 10% actual oats). At least there was ice cream at dinner, which helped a bit. I only drank soda water, so I can’t comment on the quality of the alcoholic drinks. The price for a week‑long stay was standard, but the quality and variety of the food were far below average. I personally managed because I don’t mind eating the same thing repeatedly, and in this case I was actually relieved not to experiment with their attempts at other dishes. The hotel hands out feedback forms at departure, which I appreciate. I honestly wrote the same comments about the food as I’m writing here, so hopefully they take it seriously—it’s a real shame. Interestingly, only Czech guests on Czech travel agencies complained about the food, while on Tripadvisor the reviews were almost entirely positive. I thought maybe we were just being picky (which might be true in general), but this time I have to agree with my fellow countrymen. I can tolerate a lot, even repeatedly, but not on a holiday.
