Spent a fantasic 10 days in Cleopatra in June 2026, Room 8006 (can we have that room again please) Initial impressions as you go through the gates and into the grounds are great and then into the expansive reception. After checking in we were taken via buggy to our room bny Shebal who is an entertaining character :). Our room was a nice size, plenty of storage and power points and a safe for the valuables. Water provided and the room facilities were more than adequate - no large step down the from the shower, which was nice. The restuarant is a quick walk from our room and we always seemed to gravitate to the tables to the left (as you go in) and we were greeted by Salah and Salsabil. Always attentitive and with all good waiting staff, after a couple of days they knew our standard "drinks orders" for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Always pleasant with a welcoming smile. The range of food is pretty decent and there is always a BBQ for lunch and dinner. I did like their simple "pizza bread" and when the lady making local breads was out there. Inside there is a grill section which was always good and any food that was in the buffer was constantly replaced / topped up so nothing was left for long. There is a restaurant by the kids / play pool that we did not visit and another that is down from the infinity pool and nearing to the beach. We enjoyed a Pizza and a burger on a couple of occasions there. Finally there are the Italian and Seafood restuarants that we were able to visit during our time. The food in both is absolutely fine as is the service though for me, if I had to choose one I would choose the Seafood. There are three pools. The kiddies / play pool which was quite quiet when we were there and we do not use. There is the activity pool that we used on our first day but from there on in we gravitated towards the infinity pool and not intentially we had the same sun loungers each day. There is NO reason to get down early - there was always an abundance of sun loungers available at any time of day. The first thing to mention... the sheer number of life guards. I have been on trips where you would be lucky to find any, but here EACH pool has 3 life guards. The beach had 2 lifeguards (there may have been a 3rd, never saw them) and then another at the end of the pier. The infinity pool was the quietest and pleasant. We choose our sunloungers the first time we go to the infinity pool and that was it. The following day we got down there and saw some towels on those loungers. We were debating where to go when Ibrahim came over and took those towels off and suggested we sit. We stressed that they were someone's towels and he said "I have reserved them for you". And that repeated every day. We then had the added bonus, as we sat at the same sunloungers the pool wait (Mohammed) got to know our drinks and would bring them over without us having to ask and if he saw we were at the pool around 10am (when pool service starts), we always got a fresh bottle of cold water each. After eating we would retreat to Pilli Pilli and sit and watch whatever show was going on and then maybe head inside afterwards into the coolness for a final drink before retiring. We were almost exclusively served by another Mohammed (I hope your wedding went well). Again, he knew our drinks and as soon as we arrived our drinks were on the way. Now if you like snorkelling then you will not be upset. The pier often had a red flag in the morning which was a "no go", but you could walk out to near the end of the pier from the beach. It is not very deep and is a little tidal. Do not let this put you off. There are some nooks and crannies between the coral and you will be able to see the usual "coral" fish, but also Box fish, Puffer Fish, Barracuda's, Parrot and Lion Fish - the later were a bit of surprise when I nearly bumped into 3 of those. In the afternoon the yellow flag would be up so you can go off the pier and then onto the edge of the coral where there is a deep drop and more fish to look at. On the pier you will meet Ezzat who is good for a chat and if you provide a tip will clean your mask, make sure it is tight and tell you the best spots to go and look for fish. Finally, our room was always nice and clean and if you ever needed anything else doing in your room you went and found Abdul Alatef - who was the cleaner for our block. Always pleasant and wanting to help whereever and whenever he could. We had read about tipping - which is nothing unusual for any holiday. We exchanged money in the Business Suite (there is at least 1 machine that will work with Apple/Google pay and a Monzo account). Exchange rate was about 70p per £100EGP. We tipped all of the staff above £200EGP each a day, so around £2GBP. Did this improve service ? Maybe. We did then near the end read a post on FB that someone else had mentioned about tipping between £20EGP and £50EGP..... So we were way above that. I then considered what we tip at other locations and that £200EGP is only £2GBP I was not going to change and wondered why anyone would tip that lightly. We did make use of the Spa - which was enjoyable and then a facial a few days later - again nice and relaxing. You can catch the sales reps walking around the pools - who are not like some places that hound you every day, they will be pleasant and greet you each day, but do not press the sale. You can also just walk into the Spa and chat there. Do look at doing some trips while there as they are good days out and again offer good value for money
