“Lovely location”

We stayed in a 2 bedroom, 2 storey terraced house. The accommodation is basic, but has everything you need, with a fridge (no freezer), dishwasher, hob, combi microwave, kettle, coffee maker etc in the kitchen area. The interior walls are all painted white, with a rough surface we are more used to on the outside of buildings in the UK! Downstairs is tiled throughout, with floorboards upstairs. The bathroom (upstairs) was clean, with a decent shower over the bath & a good sized basin & mirror. No window and we couldn't get the extractor to work. The loo is separate and is situated downstairs. The two bedrooms were a good size, watch out for restricted head space as you get out of bed, as they're in the eaves! Good sized former windows, the rear one giving a glimpse of the sea. The double bed was comfy & clean. Mattress protectors and pillow protectors were supplied, along with linen and blankets. The wardrobes (built in cupboard, one at the top of the stairs and one in the twin room) had plenty of space and hangers/shelving. Outside we had a small covered terrace and plenty of grass area (with little hedges giving privacy between the units) where we could sit out and enjoy a view of the sea with a glass of something cold! The main living/dining/kitchen space was rather dark, as the enclosed terrace blocked light from coming in through the patio doors (no other windows). With only two wall lights in such a big room the kitchen area was very gloomy! We brought the table lamps down from the bedroom to give extra illumination when cooking! This wasn't an issue for all the apartments, as some had an open terrace, or faced in a different direction, so it's the luck of the draw! There is free WiFi in the reception area, with comfy chairs and sofas. Many of the staff do not speak English, but they were all friendly and helpful. We didn't use the indoor pool, but the facilities all looked good. We tried the outdoor pool, but it was a little cold for me! The sea is easily accessible from the site, with a flight of steps leading to a private entrance straight onto the beach. The shore is gently shelving, so great for little people! There is a coastal path too, if you walk to the left you quickly reach another beach (5 minute walk) which has a lifeguard station, bistro and loos. This beach was popular with the locals. The site is in a good location for reaching lots of lovely beaches, or for exploring Brest. We visited Oceanopolis, which is definitely worth a visit. If you show your Brittany Ferries boarding card adults are admitted for the child price. Overall good, but basic, accommodation; I would stay here again, but would certainly want a lighter apartment!

It’s ok: extremely basic villa it was a bit like camping in a house: only bedding was provided, you have to provide absolutely everything else down to toilet rolls and tea-towels. Sparse and rather bare the house lacked character, however the beds were comfortable. The communal facilities are ok: the indoor poor was lovely and warm one day, cold the next - which made it a bit hit and miss with two under aged two children. Only free WiFi is in reception, 16 EUR per code/device for poor in house WiFi for a week, unable to watch Netflix on a laptop - fortunately our villa has a decent sea/beach view, but many do not. Beautifully situated just off a beach with no amenities, there’s not a lot in immediate walking distance (ie the boulangerie is a 5 min drive), a decent casual restaurant on the adjacent beach L'Albatros (v welcoming to families) and a cantina type cafe which was a favourite of the local labourers (very unwelcoming when we walked in with two young children) next to a quaint if slightly random creperie full of bric-à-brac. Be warned: no one spoke English at reception despite a sign saying English was spoken. Unless you leave your house spotlessly clean you will be charged 59 EUR for the 2 bedroom house or 100 EUR for the larger ones for it to be cleaned to the receptionists standards. As you can probably tell it all felt like a bit of a racket as decent cleaning equipment (mop and bucket) isn’t provided, so quite how you’re supposed to do it without packing your entire house I don’t know. Wouldn’t bother wasting time trying and plan to suck up the cost!
