“Lovely but restrictive”

We stayed in the 6 bed house. Would be a squeeze for 6 people but ideal for a family of 4. House was lovely and well equipped. Pool basic but clean and no sunbed issues despite it being hot and high season. Multi sports area well used by my son. Staff friendly and spoke very good English. My only concern was the restricted reception hours meant could not use gym, sauna, jacuzzi unless reception was open. Also tennis court had to be booked same day. Check out process was strange - had to book an appointment for someone to check cleanliness before you could leave. Alternative was to pay for end of stay cleaning. Overall, lovely relaxing peaceful site and very well located for supermarkets in Talmont and marina at Bourgonay. But slightly let down by restrictiveness and strict reception hours and policies.

We stayed for 1 week in an apartment for 8. We had 1 room with a double bed downstairs, and 2 twin rooms & main bathroom upstairs, sofa bed in the lounge area (which we didn't use). Kitchen is quite small but has dishwasher & microwave. There is a launderette onsite (tokens have to be purchased from reception).Plenty of parking spaces. The staff at reception was very friendly and helpful. The apartment was clean, the place is quite new so all in quite a good condition. We had a good week, the kids really enjoyed the pool and the multi sports area. Lots of green space around the apartments for the kids to play, the place feels very safe but a bit isolated (no shops nearby, a car is needed to go to the nearest supermarket). We enjoyed the bakery delivery service in the mornings. It is not walking distance to the beach. Very quiet at night time which was absolutely fine for us. They could improve further by providing extra sun loungers at the pool area, also there is no shade at all at the pool.

There is a bread van every morning. and nearest Super U and Lidl are in Talmont. 5 min up the road. (Nothing to do in Talmont tho ) With good petrol price as well, 70 pence per litre. The ladies behind the desk at reception are not the most helpful either :( No toilet by the pool area, when the reception is closed??!! which is like between 12-5!!! weird The weather was warm but cloudy so we did the aquarium , 5 min up the road as well, one day. It was ok. We also went out and about. The closest place with restaurants is Port Bourgenay - none of the restaurants have Wifi tho Jard sur Mer - we could not find the lovely beach area, but finally after driving and driving, it was actually very nice place, wifi and 3 course lovely meal for £12. Cant go wrong. Les Sables d-Olonne is a town. Hard to park, loads of one way streets. We wanted to go to La Rochelle but realised how far it actually is..stopped in a lovely beach area/little town La Tranhce Sur Mer On the day u have to be out at 10. and they are very strict about the way u clean. If u think hey we stay in the pool and then leave, WRONG - they deliberately lock the pool that morning, so u HAD to drive away. The wifi only works by the pool area, or houses close to it. Over all it took us like 5 hours to get there, from Cherbourg, hoping for sun which was not there :( Would we go back? different location maybe :(

Very remote location so a car is a must, beautiful pool area although sunbeds limited, we were very near to the pool so did not bother us too much. The pool is kept very clean, we were woken daily by the leaf blowing pool cleaner! They are very strict about pool use, nothing other than armbands allowed, reception closed between 12 & 5 which is very restrictive for hiring sports items or getting help with anything. No facilities on sight to speak of, We stayed in a 1 bedroom bungalow which was very clean and pleasant, however lounge area was very cramped with sofa bed open and large dining table in situ, plenty of space to sit and eat outside, €200 security deposit required on checking in which we paid for on debit card, payment 'cancelled' on checking out however monies still deducted and not refunded for sometime. Extra charges made linen hire, towel hire etc, charge made for cleaning services unless you do it yourself properly!! Nearest shop approximately 5 minutes away by car and nearest beach about 10 minutes away. Lovely part of the world with lots to do, would probably not pick this accommodation again though as found it very rigid!
