Hotel is really close to all the main sights you would want to see for 1 or 2 days in Honfleur. There are many car parking areas nearby but one is really expensive. There are a couple really close to this hotel but hard to get a place sometimes. Cost was about 12.00 for 16 hour stay (no charge overnight). Unfortunately, we got the attic room which meant a difficult climb for us oldies up about 6 flights of stairs! thankfully we only had to do this once with luggage. Price of the hotel was about average I guess for the time of year ( £90.00 ish) but the room was fine (beams etc) but the shower head wouldn't stay where you wanted it to! No tea/coffee making facilities so you are forced to go down to the restaurant or another café for a cuppa. I would recommend this place again but think a little expensive . Central, comfy, olde world but basic.

The hotel is well situated only a few hundred meters from the the main attraction, the harbour and nearer than the Ibis Styles round the corner. The booking was very last minute, by a friend using Booking.com, for the next day, so we were glad to get in. We arrived and the “Patron “ was very friendly and helpful and gave us our key and explained everything. We went to our rooms and dumped our bags (unfortunately I dumped mine on the bed) and then went off for a quick wander round part of the town, before returning for a late lunch in the hotel restaurant which compared favourably on price with those nearer the harbour. The meal was excellent and couldn’t be faulted. I returned to my room which I noticed had a strange smell, which I put down to either, it not having been used much over winter (it was a garrotte room on the top floor), or the plumbing having a continental whiff about it, though it looked clean enough. However in the morning I woke up under the old fashioned blankets and sheets, to find I was sharing a pillow with with a bug which looked like a miniature cockroach, but when squished gave up a healthy (for it) amount of fresh blood! I caught it in a tissue along with another on the floor in the bathroom and set about using “Monsieur Google “ to find out what they were. Unfortunately,they turned out to be two mature bed bugs, and the smell was that of an infestation. I took this up with Madam, and we settled on me not paying my for my breakfast, which seemed reasonable at the time, and give her her due, she did look suitably horrified and promised to take the room out of service until seen to. However, as I returned home that afternoon and as a result of reading more on the subject of Punaises de lit, I ended up putting all my clothes in a tumble dryer on a high heat ( fingers crossed that the bloody energy efficient thing got hot enough for long enough to kill any unwelcome travelers ) and my bag,shoes etc in the freezer overnight. I also realised that in order for the bedbugs to get to the size they were, and the smell as strong, this was not a couple of strays brought in by the person before me, but a well established infestation, and therefore worthy to be mentioned on this site. So if you’re offered room twelve, give it a good sniff and ask to see the bill from the pest control company dated after 25 May 2019
