This hotel has very tiny rooms with twin beds, but clean. Mattress is comfy. There are shower and electric coffee pot. Elenora in reception helped us check in and gave us a room on the top floor which it was too much for us to climb with suitcases (get small bag) the island doesn't need more that a night here. We arrived evening for the first night and we had to stay 2 nights because we had a long drive the next day. Breakfast is not included. You have to pay for breakfast. There are 2 restaurants under the hotel for dinner only. The stay was pleasant but the space is too small for 2 people. If you want the island experience this is ok but next time I would stay outside the island.

“Nicely placed hotel on the Mont”

There are plenty of reviews already about the hotel but I’d say we enjoyed our stay but perhaps didn’t get the best of the rooms available in this hotel. Other reviewers said to ask for the Annex rooms as they are higher. We did this, and they are higher! Plenty of stairs to get to them but equally closer to the Abbey and ramparts when you want to go exploring. Our room was small and bathroom particularly so, but they are working with very old buildings. It was unusually hot in May when we stayed and our room was quite warm. We had no window, but French doors that opened into a small enclosed courtyard. This mean’t no breeze, and there is no airconditioning of course. Our friends had a room with a window and told us they got a good breeze through all night. Having said all this, the location was still worth it for 1 night. We had the hotels breakfast which was fine, and lucky as most places don’t open early (as most tourists arrive after 9am). We also had dinner at the hotel as we hadn’t booked and everywhere was quite full. Dinner was also ok. We saw that transit buses back to mainland car parks run until very late, so it would be possible to stay in one of the closest mainland hotels and still have a “after the tourists leave” experience if you want a bigger hotel room or don’t want so many stairs.

This review is based upon our lunch here where we had "Menu de l'auberge au choix" where I had the Omelette du Mont Saint-Michel as a starter. That omelette was HUGE, but was very tasteless. Then I had the lamb which was O.K. For dessert I had Mystere vanile, meringe which was quite boring and tasteless. I got more than enough food, but I would have preferred smaller portions with good taste. Since the place is so busy, it is difficult to get hold on the waiters who work very hard, but have too much work to do.

“Not a highlight”

Underwhelmed. Booked on Amex Travel and expected better accommodations for our one night. Tiny dated room with spare furnishings and shabby bed. Just passable restaurant. Location was an "A" and the young women working the reception were nice, but I would look elsewhere.
