We wished to stay on the island, particularly as we were to arrive later in the evening (around 7pm), and wanted to visit the abbey first thing in the morning, 9am, we had purchased our tickets in advance. A The check in was quite easy. We drove, it was quite easy to find the parking lot for the island hotel clients, the hotel provided a passcode to enter, and the shuttle was not far from this lot. What a lovely view of the island during the sunset from the shuttle. We went to a reception that was part of another hotel (assuming same owners), and we were surprised at the meandering to get to our room, lots of steps - this would not be advisable for anyone with mobility problems or heavy luggage. We were forewarned and condensed our luggage to small bags for this evening. We were in France in mid-June at the time of heavy heat, and while I can understand the restrictions of the island and not having the infrastructure to support air conditioning, I think providing a fan would have been reasonable. We asked for a fan and they said they did not have one to provide. We slept with the window wide open to the sound of the ever-present seagulls (actually afraid that one might actually fly into the wide open window) however that never happened. The temperature did cool in the evening, and we did end up having a comfortable sleep, the beds were nice. I would advise anyone to bring a sleep mask and ear plugs, I had both and I was fine. The view from the room was lovely, we had a lovely view of the abbey. Upon our arrival around 7pm, we had a stroll around the island, which was lovely at low tide, I walked in my bare feet, the silt felt amazing. We were pleased that the hotel had a restaurant section reserved for hotel clients, we did not have to reserve specially. The meal was very nice.

“Good hotel, excellent location”

A really clean, well appointed room. As the building is of course, so old. Space is limited. That said, the hotel has used the space really well. Comfy bed. The hotel communicated really well with how to check in - via a restaurant and also they give you a code to park in their part of the car par… more

A really clean, well appointed room. As the building is of course, so old. Space is limited. That said, the hotel has used the space really well. Comfy bed. The hotel communicated really well with how to check in - via a restaurant and also they give you a code to park in their part of the car park. Breakfast was pricey at 19 euros each, but step outside (from 9.30 onwards) you can pick up a delicious crepe, baguette or beignet for about 3.50 euro. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would reccommend a stay here if you happen to be visiting this incredible place.

“Quaint, 19th century old fashioned”

The positives to this hotel are the location, on the main road through Mt. Saint Michel, the excellent breakfast buffet, and the friendly staff. The negatives: a tiny room that was hard to move around, so-so soundproofing, and the need to carry our suitcases up a steep four story circular staircase… more

The positives to this hotel are the location, on the main road through Mt. Saint Michel, the excellent breakfast buffet, and the friendly staff. The negatives: a tiny room that was hard to move around, so-so soundproofing, and the need to carry our suitcases up a steep four story circular staircase. It was quaint and memorable, and I'm glad our suitcases weren't that heavy. Most of my feelings are positive, but you might ask for a low floor.

We booked that hotel on the Mont because we thought that it was important to experience the Mount without tourists and to see tide roll in and out. That was a great experience. We were also lucky to have three beautiful days weather wise. The hotel was good, although we had our room on the 5th floor, accessible only by a wooden spiral staircase: weak knees beware! Nevertheless, we had a great view on the sea. Breakfast and meals were at the next door restaurant Le St Pierre, but were excellent..
