This is the fourth time we have stayed here and, whilst it remains a unique and enjoyable experience, the standard is not what it was. There are simply too many people now! It’s hard to get round the pool because of the number of sunbeds. The VIP areas are no longer staffed so do get misused at times and some of the decor needs maintenance. Still love the concept but the quality/price ratio makes it less certain we will return.

Cap Pirate Hotel – A pirate paradise worthy of sailing across the world for Cap Pirate isn’t just one of the best themed hotels in France or even Europe—it’s one of the most unique themed resorts anywhere in the world. As a lifelong fan of immersive theming, I genuinely believe it deserves to be mentioned alongside the finest Disney and Universal hotels. It may not have their budget, but it certainly has the heart, passion, and atmosphere. From the moment you step through the gates, you’re no longer checking into a hotel—you’ve boarded a pirate stronghold. Every corner is filled with magnificent ships, hidden treasures, pirate taverns, docks, cannons, and hundreds of decorations that make the entire resort feel like a living pirate legend. If you didn’t believe in pirate tales before, you just might after staying here. One of the most magical touches is that pirates don’t stay on stage—they roam the resort. During our stay we crossed paths with Jack Sparrow, Captain Hook, Davy Jones, and several other legendary pirates, creating unforgettable moments for both children and adults. These surprise encounters make the whole resort feel alive, as if anything could happen around the next corner. The rooms are outstanding. Even the standard categories are far larger than those found in most themed resorts and include enormous private terraces. The suites take things even further, with huge indoor spaces, private gardens, jacuzzis, Balinese beds, and enough room to truly feel like the captain of your own pirate hideout. The crew deserves enormous praise. Everyone we met—from reception to security, the pool team, waiters, entertainers, and housekeeping—was friendly, attentive, professional, and always happy to help. You really feel looked after from the moment you arrive until it’s time to set sail. The pirate dinner show is great fun. It isn’t trying to compete with a huge Broadway production, but that’s not the point. It’s charming, entertaining, full of pirate spirit, and something both kids and adults can genuinely enjoy. Throughout the week there are also themed evenings and plenty of entertainment that keep the adventure going long after sunset. The restaurants are good, with decent food and generous portions, although I found them a little overpriced for what they offer. Luckily, that’s hardly a problem. Just across the water park, about five minutes away, you’ll find the camping village with several restaurants, plus many more options along the beach. There’s also a nearby supermarket, and since every room includes a fully equipped kitchenette and a barbecue, it’s easy to prepare your own pirate feast and save a few golden doubloons for your next adventure. Now, to be completely fair, there is one area where the resort could become truly world-class. Cap Pirate is now around 10–12 years old, and time has started to leave its mark. The weathering actually blends surprisingly well with the pirate atmosphere—after all, no legendary pirate port should look brand new. However, many of the incredible pirate statues scattered throughout the resort—well over a hundred of them—deserve some love. Several have peeling paint, faded colours, broken or missing details, and simply look as though they’ve been waiting too long for the shipwrights to return. The same can be said for some of the larger decorative pieces. The magnificent blue-and-gold Cap Pirate ship at the rear of the resort, the painted mermaids around the pool area, sections of the ship façades, and a few other scenic elements have noticeably faded under the Mediterranean sun. None of these issues ruin the experience—they’re purely cosmetic—but considering how spectacular the theming already is, a fresh coat of paint and a little restoration would elevate the resort from incredible to absolutely legendary. Even with that small criticism, this remains one of the most immersive and memorable themed hotels we’ve ever visited anywhere in the world. It’s a place built with imagination, passion, and an obvious love for pirate adventures. We absolutely fell in love with Cap Pirate, and without a doubt, we’ll be returning to continue our adventures on these shores. Until then… fair winds, calm seas, and may your treasure chest always be full.

They really try but fall sort on managing their star rating. We are a family of 6 and got a suite with a yard. There were only 4 chairs inside but 6 on the patio. So we tried to use the patio but the mosquitoes were so bad that my children look like they have the chicken pox everywhere they showed any skin and so do I. The mildew in the air-conditioning and the toilet room was so strong. We all ended up with sinus issues after the stay. I didn't even bother to complain because of other complaints in here that they just covered up with fragrance, which my oldest is allergic to. There was a spiders nest that hatched in the kids room one night and they ended up all over the room. I did complain about that and they did send someone that sprayed the children's room with chemicals after they cleaned the room. The bed was so hard in the master room that both my husband and I ended up living on ibuprofen while staying there. The concept is great and I'm sure when they opened this was an amazing place because they really put effort into details but the statues are not being kept up with and the colors are bleaching in the sun. And lights sometimes take a while to turn on at night and it makes for a creepy walk with all the life size statues that have white eyes. This is all stuff that should be touched up on every winter to keep up color and quality. In the VIP+ area of the pool they say when you lay down that they can get whatever we want but had I wanted anything then I would have had to go looking for the person instead of the person walking by and asking on a regular basis (like every 45 min) if everything was needed. Since I had to stand up anyway to find the person I went and got stuff myself. What I did like: housekeeping was great (except the mildew smell never went away because it is in the AC units and the toilet room), the shuttle to the beach was great, having a little bodega right outside the park within walking distance was nice and the owner super nice and gave the kids candy when I purchased a lot there. They were nice about bringing the bags to the room and parking the car. The Nespresso machine in the room was nice even though they didn't refill the coffee every day. The kids did enjoy the water park. There was a restaurant next to the place that made pizza, chicken nuggets and burgers that they kids did enjoy, in the morning you can buy baguettes there too. The all inclusive is not worth it. Don't waste your money on it. The restaurant on location is not good. Save that money. But major downers is hard mattress, bugs and mildew.
