We were given a very warm welcome from Heidi on reception, who remembered us from previous visits. Furthermore, we were very well-treated by Chloe and Maelys; very friendly and efficient staff. We came up as usual for some Christmas shopping; the ladies were a mine of information about which shop or town was best for everything. The bed was very comfortable and although we had some initial problems with the heating, Chloe fixed them immediately. This time we only stayed for one night. However, on this occasion the cooked breakfast was available.

On entering the hotel we were greeted by a very nice young man on reception who was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are quite spacious and clean and tidy. Breakfast was the normal continental version plus one hot item, first day sausages, second day bacon. There is a small swimming pool on the top floor with good views towards Collioure. You could not be in a safer place as part of the hotel is shared with the local gendarmerie. The free car park is quite small, but across the road, by the cemetery, there is plenty of spaces. My only complaint, which is a small one, is that there was an unpleasant smell from the drain in the shower. The smell disappears after the shower is used but builds up during the day. Our room was 116. Overall thoroughly recommended, we intend to visit next year.

We often stay in this hotel; it's well placed and handy for both Collouire and Port Vendres. Some staff members - Heidi in particular - give outstanding customer service. With regard to the ‘free’ breakfast, all that glitters is not gold. There is only one coffee machine; the portable one that is kept behind the bar is ‘broken’; until last Sunday when the breakfast room was packed and the people were getting very cranky, when suddenly, as if by magic, the portable machine wasn’t ‘broken’ after all and was dragged into service. Exactly the same thing happened last September so I can only assume that this is a regular occurrence. On Saturday morning I arrived for breakfast at 8:30; the room was not particularly busy. I made my way to the bacon and eggs; no bacon. I asked the guy on breakfast duty when the bacon was coming: “J’arrive” he said. Ten minutes later I asked the same question: “J’arrive” he said. Ten minutes later I asked the same question: “J’arrive” he said. By now the eggs and the coffee – which I had queued ten minutes for – were cold. So, I asked the girl on reception when the bacon would be coming. “It’s not,” she explained, “We’ve cooked our ‘quota’ for today.” Since when does a hotel have a ‘quota’ for bacon as long as there are guests who are asking for it? The scrambled eggs were also not replaced, I couldn’t help but notice. On Sunday we were down for breakfast at 07:30; it is a sad thing when – on a weekend away – you have to choose between a lie on or a breakfast. However, I’m glad that we did; by 09:30 the breakfast room was bedlam. On Saturday morning we had also placed our towels – as directed – on the shower plate to be replaced; they were not. Only thanks to Heidi did we not have to shower, only to have to dry ourselves, with skanky towels. This is not a cheap hotel, despite the three stars. On the last two visits we have paid over €120 per night. Moreover, they charge €8 for an underground parking space – fair enough - until you drive past the sensor which says ‘underground parking: €5 per night’. Moreover, the air-conditioning seemed to switch itself off in the middle of the night; I have no idea why. We like coming here but, for the price they charge, this hotel could do a lot better.

Start with most positive... a super selection for breakfast. So many options fitted into a small breakfast area. Excellent! But firstly we had the impression of going to a boutique style hotel with stunning coastal views.... NOT!! Coastal side faces a Lidl supermarket whilst the other side faces an interior emptiness a d an opposing wall. Nothing boutique about this really. A bit of bright paint around but that is all. Oh and a sliding screen facing night sky so you could lookat the stars. But window can't be opened so even in late October room was stuffy, lacked oxygen and so we slept badly. As an Accor member it was disappointing and we expected much better. Not worth the money I'm afraid. Pity as breakfast was excellent
