We had focused mainly on sun and access to beaches and cultural sights in planning our visit to Nice and not a lot on Nice’s history. But our arrival at Hotel Suisse on a typically sunny morning coincided with a small but dignified parade and ceremony including placing of wreaths in commemoration of 8th May 1945, which was a welcome reminder. We loved Nice and I cannot imagine a better place from which to enjoy the city than Hotel Suisse. The Hotel overlooks the beach, with more or less immediate access, and the old city with its flower market, its many colorful shops and variety of restaurants and night life is just outside the door. Major museums and cultural sights are within 10 minute cab rides. In addition to Hotel Suisse’ superb location, it is well designed, quiet, and well managed. Staff are courteous, helpful, and professional. We would mention in particular Migena and her colleagues who managed the lovely breakfast room and exceptional breakfasts with cheerful efficiency. We look forward to our next stay with Hotel Suisse.

I've stayed at the Hotel Suisse off and on for many years. Mainly for the great location. But after the recent full renovation it's a whole new experience. Wonderful renovation, great room amenities and helpful friendly staff, The rooms and elevator still smallish. The room space designed to utilize every inch. It's a bit more expensive, but well worth the price. The views from your room is priceless.

Fantastic hotel with a location that can’t be beaten in Nice. Central location, everything was walking distance and with stunning views! Staff were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Room was made up everyday and A/C was working- very much required after a hot day of exploring! Only slight … more

Fantastic hotel with a location that can’t be beaten in Nice. Central location, everything was walking distance and with stunning views! Staff were wonderful and helpful. Breakfast was nice. Room was made up everyday and A/C was working- very much required after a hot day of exploring! Only slight criticism is the bathroom would benefit from being updated, but I am nitpicking as it was still perfectly acceptable. We will be back!

It’s all about location and views for this hotel! Ask for a balcony room and soak up the vibrant life and ocean sounds along the Promenade des Anglais. You literally cannot get a better view of Nice and the Côte d’Azur. Room itself is..cozy, but layout and slim minimalist furnishings maximize the space. Bathroom is a bit dated, but totally functional. Use caution getting in and out of the tub/shower, it’s a big step and the glass half-panel wall swings inward, so don’t try to rely on it too much for support. Cleanliness is a 10/10. Bed and bedding also great. In all, it’s minimalistic, but the important things are here: it’s clean, you’ll get a good night’s sleep, and you’ll have views over Nice that are well worth the room rate. Courtesy Note to my Fellow Travelers: Be respectful of the small entry/lobby area; don’t be like the Americans who came in after us and unpack your suitcase to change your shoes where people are trying to enter and exit the hotel. There’s a little bar area set back from the front desk, and during the day it’s a better spot for reassessing your needs if you arrive early and your room isn’t ready.
