The stay didnt have a single imperfection, I highly recommend to everyone who wishes for a calming vacation full of a great food, nice and clean environment and kind people! Food all inclusive: international but also greek specialities every day (greek sweets, fresh fish, perfectly cooked meat, fresh fruit & vegetable etc.), the food was just perfect - even the coffee was very tasteful and thats very unusual in hotels! There were gyroses and pizza, sweets and snacks right behind the pool. Hotel: totally friendly people, very nice new rooms with an elegant furniture, cleaned every day + Nuxe cosmetics available in the room! Greek nights every Sunday, live music every Saturday & entertainment for kids every day with local & Slovak & Polish animators. Pool: available from 10 am till 6 pm and I believe thats why its so clean. The pool was big enough and sunbeds were available with comfy matresses. Beach: the best beach at the entire island with a red sand, easily accesable, 3 min walk from the hotel. The beach has this clay thats good for skin. Kefalonia island is a great place for a car hire - 100% recommend. We used a Mercury rental service nearby the hotel and we got almost a brand new Fiat Panda. Overall, a perfect experience and I wish this for everyone to enjoy the same we had. Thank you, staff, you made our dream to come true.

Lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff and wonderful cleaners. Yes the area is quiet but that is very clear if you have read the information before booking. Rooms dated but very comfortable with great air conditioning and useful balcony. Sadly our teens’ room (girls) was very far away from ours and ground floor so they felt worried but it turned out ok as it’s a lovely safe location. Xi beach was beautiful, lovely warm sea but stony to walk into by the sun loungers, further up the beach to the left there are no stones. Good beach bars. All inclusive not the very best but there was a very good variety of hot and cold options. Pool lovely but sun loungers got bagged early with towels and staff didn’t enforce, so we did exactly that on our last day to ensure we got a couple. Cocktails ok, beer good, great gyros and pizza at lunchtimes in the pool bar. We hired a fiat panda for 3 days to explore the beautiful island, a jeep was more expensive but would’ve been useful for hilly mountain roads! We got a puncture on the fallen rocks so be careful, luckily my partner is a mechanic but 3 locals stopped to offer help. Fiskardo, Sami, Assos, Melisiani cave all very beautiful and worth a visit, Argostoli (go late morning to see huge turtles). Antisamos beach is beautiful and lively if you want music and there are other beautiful quiet beaches. We LOVE Kefalonia and although the hotel and Xi beach were lovely we would probably return to a slightly less remote area.

Our tourist group is very thankful to the staff of the hotel. Our tour operator Novatours did not do their job as expected and did not follow honest business rules. Thanks to the hotel understanding of our problem, we were not left without a meal as the season closes in the area with the beginning of October and all taverns and cafeterias were closed already. The hotel is clean and the staff very friendly, the restaurant makes good meals, and the menu changes daily and all food was well cooked and tasty. Wi-Fi was very hectical on our room and stable on the balcony. Toilet pots need replacement in several places in public ones flushing systems did not work properly - water was running all the time. Pots are not having original lids and cover seat. It is uncomfortable to use, and the flushing knobs do not work properly. The hotel does not have any slipways nor elevators and therefore is not suitable for disabled people and for wheelchair.

I read many reviews before choosing this hotel. To be honest there was quite a mixture of positive and negative. I know there are some out there who want perfection and some who are hypercritical and with that in mind I took a chance on this hotel I always try to be fair and factual so I will give my view of this hotel so that at very least people know what to expect from their stay Hotel From the outside this hotel looks quite grand. The rooms are a bit dated but have all you need. The bathrooms are a little small. You can’t sit on the loo as the door is very close. There is a safety deposit box in the room which is free There is a kettle however no plug socket near the tray so you have to heat next to the bed. The tea facilities are not restocked by room service however you can pick up tea bags etc from the bar and dining room. The bed is very large and very comfortable but is essentially 2 single beds so there is a slight hump in the join and the bedding provided is for 2 single beds. The TV is the usual tv in hotels. The air con is free and works well. The small balcony is a good place to dry towels etc. The rooms are cleaned daily and fresh towels and bedding also left. The cleaning staff are all extremely friendly and the reception staff are fantastic and extremely helpful. Location When we go away we like to stay somewhere where there are a few bars and restaurants nearby. Somewhere to walk out in the evenings for a change of scenery and people watching. This hotel is located in a tiny hamlet kind of place about 15 minutes drive from the main town of Lixouri. There is very little near to the hotel. Xi beach is claimed to be one of the best on the island (I will come to that later) The beach is a 5 min walk. There are about 4 bars on the top of the beach. They are very reasonably priced but very very quiet. If you want to go into town reception will order you a taxi however it’s 13 euros each way and taxi drivers don’t give change from 15 euros It’s a 30 Euro round trip which ends up being expensive. It was cheaper to hire mopeds from Lixouri and this also gave you the freedom to explained the island There is a bus from the hotel into town that runs during the day. This is 2 Euros per person but the last bus back is about 4pm so you can’t get the bus back at night. There is very little to do at the hotel. There are tennis courts and table football There is very limited entertainment in the evenings. The pool doesn’t open until 10am so there is no option to go for an early swim It also closes very early at about 17.30 so if you do go out for the day you can’t have a refreshing swim when you arrive back. Many people wanted to enjoy the evening sun but they close the pool off. In the main pictures of this hotel they show the pods around the pool. Sadly there are not enough and pool beds are all reserved by peoples towels by 7.30 in the morning at the latest. This is probably due to the fact that the hotel is isolated and being by the pool is the only real option however as this is the case there should be a bigger pool area for beds. There are lovely grass areas some of which could be given over to pool space but you’re not allowed to walk on the grass. Food - We didn’t book this holiday because it was all inclusive however we paid for it. The food was ok. You would never starve but it was bland and had a very limited menu. There was one evening where they seemed to have lots of good options but we didn’t experience that again during our stay. There was very little fresh fruit selection. No melons etc. They did seem to have grill and pancake stations in the dining room but they were never open or used There never seemed to be enough staff in the dining room and on numerous occasions when we went to eat there were no spare clean tables and the entire dining room was full of dirty tables and there was nowhere to sit The staff were pleasant just didn’t seem organised at all. The all inclusive option was disappointing The beer at the bar was not very good at all and something everyone commented on. The soft drinks were cheap with panda cola type They had fixed cocktails which were more palatable however with nowhere else really to go most people were stuck in the hotel bar at night and they stopped serving all inclusive drinks at 11pm. This is very early considering there wasn’t anywhere else to go but the cynic in me thinks it may be a ploy to make extra income The bar inside the hotel did actually serve real Pepsi but not the pool bar. We didn’t really see any real snacks at the pool bar either. The furniture around the pool bar was dated and to be honest there wasn’t enough of these either. There seemed a lack of comfortable seating anywhere The bar itself was dated and a little grubby Beach - The beach was very disappointing. The sand is like very yellow builders sharp sand. Locals say half the beach was washed away in a storm recently This means the beach is very narrow and the sun beds are crammed in and touching each other. The sea bed here is made of clay. If you dig your feet in a little you can pick up the clay and some people were covering themselves in clay and letting it bake. It’s apparently supposed to be good for skin!! The water was clean and warm (sept) but not the gorgeous turquoise water you see in other areas. It was actually quite claustrophobic as the sun beds were so close they were almost touching and not particularly well kept. If you walk to the beach and turn right there is an area without umbrellas and beds but the sand makes it grubby If you walk out of the hotel at the back there is Bar Vardianhi This does amazing food at reasonable prices and the views especially at sunset are amazing Outside of the gates is a small bar Antonellis Here you can also buy decent beer and food at a reasonable price. You can also hire a boat here from Spiros and Carol. They are very honest and won’t allow you to hire the boat if the weather is unsuitable We hired a boat for the day and saw some beautiful beaches. Petani is a good beach and we also discovered some coves and beaches that are only accessible by boat and beautiful. We never planned to stay in this hotel all day every day however if you planned to come on an all inclusive holiday and just stay in the resort and relax I think you would have been very disappointed As mentioned before we hired a motorbike and then realised it was cheaper to hire mopeds than pay for taxis It also gave us the opportunity to get out of the hotel. We visited the caves (one underground with stalactites etc) and one a lagoon. Both worth a look. We rode the whole island and saw some beautiful beaches. This actually emphasised how poor our own beach actually was. Petani is 20 minutes from the hotel beautiful and had a good restaurant but we also visited Sami and Fiskardo. Fiskardo is a tiny harbour and very pretty and worth a visit. We also climbed up into the National park where there are amazing views of the island from the highest peak in the Ionian islands. Hiring bikes we saw much more of the island and the real Kefalonia Conclusion This hotel is situated in a very quiet area. With a little investment it could be so much better. The poor beach and lack of any real life makes this a very quiet place to be The hotel does nothing to compensate for that. It did feel like the hotel was winding down for the season but we had like others paid the price for the holiday and expect what we pay for. If you thought you were coming on an all inclusive holiday and were relying on a certain standard or had little extra money to spend you would be bitterly disappointed If you want luxury this hotel is not for you. Having said that if you know what you are getting, this hotel makes a great base to explore the island but you will need to have the funds to get around. Also as an aside this hotel is split level It had many stairs. Kefalonia in the main is very hilly and rocky so if you have mobility issues it’s probably not one for you
