We usually like to try different destinations and hotels but we have fallen for the Ibiscus. This was our 2nd year staying here and once we got back to the UK after trawling several websites for next year we have booked the same week next year. We love the setting and the food and drink is great. One suggestion would be for the food offer to be a bit more inclusive for fussy eaters. I'm not one of them as I like to try all the local dishes but other hotels have included a 'kids offer' of chips, chicken nuggets, pasta etc. The service from Maria in housekeeping and Vangelis in the Bar/ Restaurant need particular mentions but all the staff were attentive and great. Everyone is really friendly and there is a real eye for detail. We witnessed the manager interacting with several staff and leading from the front even wiping around the lid of a bin (the little things matter). The shuttle bus into Roda every hour is a great touch and we utilised this to pop out for some souvenirs and a spot of lunch. My wife and I are quite relaxed on holiday and just want to chill on a lounger reading or in the pool. The ibiscus really lived up to our expectations and we can't wait to return next year.

We have had a really enjoyable stay at the Ibiscus Hotel in Corfu and would happily return. For an all-inclusive hotel, the food has been surprisingly good, with plenty of choice and consistently good quality. The real standout for us was the daytime pool snack bar – the freshly made gyros and kebabs were excellent and became a bit of a daily ritual. The cocktails were also fantastic, freshly made to order rather than pre-mixed, which made a real difference. We stayed in one of the private pool rooms and would definitely recommend it. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, and having our own pool was a lovely luxury. Sitting outside, listening to the waves and looking out towards the sea was incredibly peaceful. The rooms could do with a little maintenance here and there, but nothing that detracted from our holiday. The biggest asset of this hotel is undoubtedly the staff. Every member of the team works incredibly hard, yet they are always smiling, friendly and happy to help. They genuinely make you feel welcome. The hotel itself is very peaceful. Entertainment is limited to every other evening, so don’t expect lively nights or lots of organised activities. There is also very little within walking distance, and the roads are narrow with no pavements, so going out for an evening stroll isn’t really practical. The free shuttle bus into Roda is a great touch, and the driver deserves a special mention for always being cheerful and friendly. Roda itself is pleasant enough, with plenty of places to eat and drink, although it does feel a little tired and could do with a bit of a clean-up compared to some other Greek resorts. The beach at the hotel is another highlight. It’s a mixture of sand and pebbles, and the sea is wonderfully warm and very shallow. You can walk a long way out before the water reaches your waist, making it perfect for families or anyone who simply enjoys floating around in calm, warm water. Overall, if you’re looking for a lively resort with lots of bars, nightlife and entertainment, this probably isn’t the place for you. However, if your ideal holiday is about slowing down, reading a book, playing cards, enjoying good food and drinks, and simply relaxing in peaceful surroundings, the Ibiscus Hotel is an excellent choice. I would personally score it a 4.5 star if I could just the odd maintenance issue would be the only thing to knock off the half a star for me.

We’re a pretty well travelled family so I feel I can give a good balanced view. For this holiday we had a week on a TUI cruise and then a week at the Ibiscus hotel. We are a family of five, including three grown up children (17, 20 and 22). We had two swim up rooms in the same block. Rooms - very clean, and cleaned daily. Fresh bottled water every day in the fridge. The inside and terrace floors (by the swim up pool) were slippy with wet feet but we just made sure we were careful. Swim up pool - clean and the temperature was fine. We had two loungers on the terrace outside each of the rooms. Main pool - also clean with a good temperature. Get a lounger by the pool by about 8.30am, or there are plenty on the grassy area nearby, and loads on the beach. Pool bar - drinks from about 9am to 6pm. Breakfast sandwiches (bacon and egg etc) available in the morning. Lunch at the pool bar was chicken/pork gyros and souvlakis, burgers, hot dogs, pizza slices, sandwiches, toasties, chips, fruit pots, and more. All good. Some previous reviewers have complained but us and all the other families we have spoken to on holiday seemed to like it 😀 Beach - plenty of loungers and umbrellas. A bit rocky at the top but it was fine for my daughter and she’s a little unsteady on her feet. Nice gently shelving sand once you’re in the sea. Restaurant breakfast - standard full English menu plus cereals, fruit, Greek yogurt, and traditional continental breakfast. Restaurant lunch - loads of salad ingredients, chips, pasta pots and more. We didn’t use it much as we used the pool bar instead. Restaurant dinner - we ate there four times and went into Roda for the other three nights. In simple terms the food was good unless you are fussy. Different things on different nights including spaghetti bolognaise, lasagne, roast chicken, chicken kebabs, roast beef, pizza, chilli con carne, chips, wedges, soup, plenty of local Greek things. Every day there was a full salad bar and desserts, cheese, and ice cream. It was all help-yourself buffet. The food was hot and we had no problems with the quality of it. Just not quite enough choice every night for some of my (fussy!) family. For those of you with kids - there were no chicken nuggets in the evening. Entertainment - there were singers in the main bar most evenings, they kept us amused for the evenings we stayed in, but it was pretty low key. Gym - not great. The treadmill powered off after I’d been on it for five minutes. Couldn’t get it to work again. Weights bench with barbell. Exercise bike but no power cable, it still just about worked though! Shuttle bus - departs every hour into Roda and he drives back and forth until no one else needs it. Then starts again at the top of the hour. Or you can walk into Roda (15 minutes) if you don’t mind the hills. Staff - they were all very nice. I read some reviews about rude staff but I didn’t see or hear anything bad. If you treat people nicely, you generally get good service back! Just one piece of advice, don’t try and get alcohol for anyone under 18 at the hotel. They will check the passport copies they have and will not allow under age drinking. Roda - nice place, quite busy, probably 10 restaurants to choose from plus a few bars. Some watersports available. My summary - a nice quiet hotel with a beach, decent pool and pool bar. Good food but if you’re fussy then be prepared to go into Roda occasionally. I would happily stay here again, some of my family prefer non-all inclusive so they have more food options.

Location was very remote, taxi to sidari and back is 50 euros which is quite expensive considering it takes 10 minutes to get there. There was no entertainment at the hotel in the whole week we were there. The swim up room we had was lovely however our pool never got the sun so it was a waste of time paying extra for this. My biggest issue was the food. Breakfast was decent we were always able to eat something however lunch and dinner options were terrible. In general the hotel was very clean. There’s nothing to do at the hotel therefore it was always quiet on an evening. Couldn’t fault the staff as they were friendly. I wouldn’t return to this hotel mainly because of the food, I would say the food options were more a 3 star. The journey back to the airport take two and a half hours not 70 minutes as stated. Also I would say the sun beds need updating as they were the old fashioned wooden ones.
