We stayed here for a couple of days in early June this year and could not believe our luck in finding it,If you want a relaxing rest in a basic apartment/studio you will not find better. The place is kept immaculately clean by a workaholic cleaner and the owner is always attentive, the pool is lovely and the views from the balconies over Almirida are amazing. We will definately return for a much loger stay next time in Crete.

“Perfect!”

We stayed there last August and we didn't get the feedback questionnaire from booking.com but we loved our stay there! The owner was very friendly and helpful, rooms were cleaned every day, the place was like a paradise, highly recommended and great value for money. I'm sure we will visit there again. We also got home made wine for free and the cleaner brought us cake. Perfect service and good "coca cola" ;) greetings from Finland :)

“Good value with a great view”

We booked the Kaloudis apartments as a short notice break, quiet relaxing was the key elements. We arrived at the property about 22:00hrs to be met with the manager and his assistant. They both helped carry our cases to our room and gave a quick demo of the apartments AC etc. The studio room was basic however, clean and tidy, the rooms were cleaned each day (7 night break), bedding and towels replaced daily. The pool was amazingly quiet (apart from a chorus of crickets), clean and well maintained. The views from the balcony of Almyrida and the area surrounding were impressive and uninterrupted. We had no issues to bring to the managements attention, however, I feel no issue could not have been resolved quickly as they were very keen to ensure we had a lovely stay. I have one minor complaint, no sun canopies around the pool, it can get really hot. The only other matter I would mention, a car would be a requirement if walking is an issue, Almyrida is a 20 minute walk away.

I very recently returned from a short stay at Kaloudis Apartments where I rented a self-catering studio. The quality of the room was typically Greek, i.e. basic and the finer details leave a little to be desired. I had a few very minor quibbles as you'd perhaps expect in budget accommodation such as this - it was difficult to prepare a meal any more elaborate than a salad since there was no work surface only a small table and very limited utensils, sleep was occasionally interrupted by a very noisy fridge, it was a slight struggle to fit into the tiny shower. However, these are the imperfections I have come to expect on the Greek islands and no way portray the whole experience of my stay which was thoroughly enjoyable. The view from each balcony is breath-taking since the property is in an elevated position and overlooking Almyrida, Souda Bay and the Aktotiri peninsular beyond. The setting is peaceful yet within striking distance of Almyrida, which is about a 15 minute walk. However, some might struggle on foot as the road up to the apartments is quite steep in places. To fully explore this region, I’d suggest hiring a car, which can be arranged either at the airport or with one of the local companies in Almyrida. My room was cleaned and towels changed daily (with I think only one exception) and all public areas were also kept spotless. Facilities at the property are limited, i.e. no bar or restaurant, but the pool is beautiful and was surprisingly empty for the majority of my stay, most guests preferring to head for the beach which I found to be rather crowded. There are plenty of sunbeds but pool towels are not provided. The staff offered a very warm welcome and were wonderfully friendly throughout my stay, Mr Kaloudis even giving me a lift back from Almyrida on a couple of occasions. In summary, if you want luxury accommodation this is not the place for you. If, however, you are seeking good value self-catering you’d be hard pushed to beat Kaloudis apartments.
