Recently, I returned from a vacation at this hotel. Our check-in started a bit rough, but thanks to Ms. Natalia, everything was resolved very quickly, and our vacation continued smoothly. This was my fifth stay at this hotel, and this time I was pleasantly surprised to see that the hotel had been beautifully renovated, especially the restaurant facilities. Excellent hotel, great room, friendly and helpful staff, delicious food, and good drinks. We had a wonderful stay and would happily return for a sixth visit. I would like to extend special thanks to Ms.Natalia, and Denis (Pool Bar), Haris(Lobby Bar), Main restaurant team (Antonia, Katerina, Kristos, Trojani and Eleferija) and nd the rest of the team for making our stay so enjoyable.

“A lovely Holiday”

“Great hotel with amazing staff and good amenities, with a few minor issues. Still would highly recommend.”

Just returned from a ten day trip. We're a young couple - 27 and 30 and probably some of the youngest guests. Most people were a lot older but there were a few other young couples. Loved the hotel, it was amazing. We didn't go all inclusive on food but we did eat in the hotel a few times and the food was great. My favourite was the Italian restaurant, but the sushi from the Asian was also great. Rooftop terrace was also lovely to sit out and have a drink, as well as the two bars near the pool. Loved the swim up bar in particular, it was lovely being able to sit and have a drink in the pool. Also really liked how there was an ice cream/coffee shop in the hotel. I really loved the ice cream, the pistachio was my favourite. Salma, Dimitria and Haris were amazing and made our stay really enjoyable, they looked after us very well and provided excellent customer service. All other staff were great as well, they are all great assets to the hotel. Loved having the beach right on the doorstep, and drinks service to our beds. Also thought the welcome drink and bottle of wine in the room on arrival were really nice touches. The location of the hotel was really handy for getting to Chania - a bus stop across the road or 15 euro for a taxi. There is also another touristy spot a 10 minute drive the other direction, with restaurants, bars and a beach. I walked here one of the days in an hour and a half, it's a nice walk with sea views along the way and cafes and bars to stop for a coffee or drink. There's also some restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, including a bakery/cafe called Pink Velvet which was really nice for a pastry and coffee. Supermarkets and shops are also nearby, including one directly across the road. I actually thought the hotel would be more isolated from reading some reviews, but it's really not. Everything you need in terms of supermarkets etc., is really close by. Just a few minor reasons why I gave four stars instead of five - While the room was lovely, modern and clean, it was quite small and had bad lighting for getting ready in the evening. Not really a great place available to dry hair etc. The balcony also had a covering which prevented sunbathing or just sitting in the sun on the balcony - I'm sure this would suit guests who prefer shade but I like to sit in the sun. People leaving towels on sunbeds unattended all day - I didn't think this would be an issue here but it was. Hard to find beds some days, because lots of people reserved beds with towels and disappeared all day. Towards the end of our stay, the hotel was getting busier as lots more people arrived, and it got even harder to find beds. One of the last days we couldn't sit at either pool as all beds were taken, most of which were reserved with no one sitting on them. We sat at the beach which was fine, but frustrating as we didn't have the choice. The beach also did fill up very quickly and all beds were in use by 12 in the day. I think the hotel should be stricter about reserving beds - it's not fair on other guests. It's one thing to reserve and use them, but another to leave towels unattended all day and not even using the sunbed. We did figure out there was another very small pool on the other side of the hotel towards the end of our stay, but only saw this at night so didn't see how full this got in the daytime. However this wouldn't have suited us anyway as we like to sip on cocktails at the pool and there was no bar beside this small one. The last issue I had, was the air conditioning in the room. I don't know why, but it made me extremely sick. On our second night, I was awake literally all night blowing my nose and had an extremely sore throat. I thought I was coming down with a flu. However, after going out in the sun for a few hours the next day, I felt better. I quickly realised it was the air conditioning making me sick. I don't know if there was mold in the filter or dirt, but I have never had an issue with air conditioning before. I didn't bring it up with staff at the time as I didn't want to cause a fuss. I'm not sure if a different room would have been better, or if it would have given me the same issues. I stopped using the air conditioning for the rest of the holiday, we would leave it on during the day while we were out, to cool the room, but turn it off immediately when we returned for the night. I didn't get sick again after this. Overall the hotel is great, and the issues I had were minor enough. I would still really recommend the hotel to any couple thinking of going. Very quiet and tame so wouldn't really recommend for a group holiday, definitely suited to couples. The staff, terrace and bars are the best thing about the hotel. Also loved that it had a beach. Views were absolutely incredible, especially at sunset. Lovely stay, really enjoyed it.

We returned recently from a weeks stay at Atlantica Kalliston Resort The hotel itself was lovely and we were kindly upgraded to a suite on arrival. However, we found a few issues along the way that we weren’t particularly happy with. The à la carte restaurants were lovely and can book on the app. However the buffet was awful. Not a lot of food option (breakfast & dinner) we found most food was cold as it was sat out on the sides with just a lamp over it. Breakfast bits often ran out and when asked staff to restock they said they’d run out. We ended up going to a nearby bakery for breakfast which we didn’t expect to do given we paid for all inclusive. The staff were mostly friendly, but we noticed they were quite slow in the restaurants. Often our meal would come and after asking for condiments, more often than not they didn’t bring them. Restaurants for lunch and dinner weren’t busy so this was disappointing. Lastly, there was zero evening entertainment. We booked through on the beach and the first sentence on the hotel description stated “Atlantica Kalliston Resort is an all-singing, all-dancing resort.. literally, there's top-tier evening shows each night” We would have a couple of drinks in the evening but there wasn’t any form of entertainment which often ended up in very early nights! Hotel was lovely but wouldn’t suggest it was 5* and would not choose to return given it wasn’t the cheapest of holidays!
