We found an amazingly peaceful boutique hotel in a beautifully restored space in the busy town of Chania, Crete. Our spacious suite was tastefully designed with a large patio overlooking the city. The staff were all gracious and very helpful. They always welcomed us with a smile and asked us how our day went. Breakfast in the open air courtyard was plentiful, with all sorts of options. Because the hotel is in the old city and you can't drive a car there, you do have to tote your luggage a few blocks, but that is a minor inconvenience for a truly lovely hotel . What an amazing boutique hotel in the heart of Chania old town. The building is a beautifully restored 16th Century group of building around a small courtyard - accessed from a quiet old town back street by an unassuming door leading to a cool, dimly lit hall. We had the maisonette room (a room & bathroom on each floor) with a private rooftop sun terrace overlooking the mountains to the south. Amazing! Comfy bed, crisp white linens, all mod cons (kettle, coffee machine, fridge - and separate wine fridge). The bathrooms had great monsoon showers (and great water pressure) with lovely soaps etc and soft white towels. With modern windows, the inside was silent at night with them closed and modern air conditioning quietly kept the entire maisonette at the desired temperature. Breakfast was included and everything on offer (fruit, granola, Cretan pies, eggs, cold meats and lots more) was amazing. The room was also well stocked (and restocked daily) with bottled water, juices, teas, coffee and soft drinks. And all underpinned by an amazing small team who warmly welcomed us, organised airport transfers, sorted excursions out and looked after us all week. Cannot rate the whole package highly enough. We will definitely be going back.

This place is incredible! We started our honeymoon off at Azade and it was perfect. The hotel itself is so cool with a great history to it. The rooms are spacious and in great condition. They also have a wonderful complimentary breakfast (with the best Greek yogurt we had on the island). The hotel is in a perfect location for the best food and shops in Chania! We were steps away from the harbor too. But the best part of our experience was the staff. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. For example, I left my sunglasses behind and the staff went above and beyond to help locate them and return them to me days after we left the hotel. I was so impressed by the hospitality and experience we had at Azade. Highly highly recommend. We will definitely be returning in the future. Bottom line: if you want a great experience in old town, you must stay here.

Wow! Just wonderful in every way possible. The entire staff at this property is so genuinely kind and so hospitable. The rooms are nicely appointed and very large. The housekeeping staff does an exceptional job at cleaning. They work very hard so make sure you show your appreciation. Front desk and manager are fantastic and always interacting and giving great tips on everything. We loved our breakfast each morning and really enjoyed the young lady who would assist us. They really feed you well and it’s freshly made authentic Greek style. Perfectly located on the harbor and just steps from anywhere you want to go. This is my new home away from home.
