We didn’t stay at the hotel, but enjoyed drinks at the roof top bar one evening. It’s a really special space, with great views across the harbour. There’s a great cocktail menu and the service is excellent, including arranging for a drink to be brought up from the restaurant downstairs. It’s tucked away just off the harbour, and it’s worth exploring the cobbled streets. There are steps up from the harbour, I’m not sure if there’s an accessible entrance from the other direction.

Casa Delfino was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Crete. We have stayed in many wonderful hotels over the years, but the level of hospitality and genuine care we experienced here was truly exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel less like guests and more like part of the Casa Delfino family. Every interaction was warm, professional, and sincere. The team consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, providing outstanding restaurant recommendations, helping coordinate excursions and transportation, and offering local insights that made our time in Chania even more memorable. The hotel itself is stunning—beautifully restored, elegant, and full of character, while still offering every modern comfort. Its location in the heart of Chania’s Old Town is ideal for exploring the harbor, shops, restaurants, and historic sites. What impressed us most was the incredible attention to detail. When they learned we had an early morning flight, they thoughtfully prepared a packed breakfast for us so we wouldn’t have to leave hungry before dawn. It was such a simple yet meaningful gesture that perfectly reflects the culture of hospitality at Casa Delfino. In an industry where great service is often promised but not always delivered, Casa Delfino sets the gold standard. The staff’s dedication, kindness, and commitment to creating unforgettable guest experiences are second to none. We spent three nights in the family suite at Casa Delfino this past June. We were welcomed as family into this family run hotel. The space is utterly charming, and the staff are so gracious and helpful. We depended on them so much for recommendations and reservations for restaurants, for celebrating our grandson‘s birthday, for helping us get our television squared away and for logistics! My massage at the spa was one of the best I have ever experienced. It could not have been a more delightful stay!!! We highly recommend this lovely hotel!

“Characterful Hotel in a Great Location”

Very central “Old Town” Chania hotel. It has a tucked away location which offers peace and quiet well away from car and pedestrian passing traffic. The building itself oozes character, charm, and family history. It is spotlessly clean with each room being individually presented. The courtyard area for breakfast is a lovely space. Breakfast was adequate, not a huge range but the homemade granola was a very nice touch. Whilst our room was very nice. Although part of the character of the hotel the room lacked a balcony and was accessed via 47 steps. The step into and out of the bathroom could also possibly be a problem for some in the middle of the night. This was not an issue for us, but guests should be aware that not all rooms, to our knowledge, can be accessed via a lift. At no point these aspects were highlighted to us, but it should be considered by those with any mobility issues. Whilst we appreciated its location, for us, a negative feature was the lack of anywhere comfortable to sit and relax outside. The roof top Cocktail Bar had a great view and a few dining style chairs and tables, but with only 4 Loungers. With no balcony we missed the opportunity to relax comfortably after a day out and about.
