This hotel was situated perfectly, with a view of the lighthouse. Although we were on the bottom floor we had no issues with noise, we slept so well in the gigantic bed. The staff are friendly and the room is so clean. It had more amenities than expected, with them providing a dressing gown each, slippers, Toothbrush and toothpaste, a shaving kit, a vanity kit, a sewing kit and a coffee machine in the room and water in the fridge. The shutters kept the light out for a good sleep and the air con was that good we were actually cold one night despite the over 30degree heat throughout our beautiful stay. The breakfast was great, always got a table no matter what time despite it being for a few of their hotels. It was always peaceful with lots of lovely things to eat. The hotel and rooms were kept so clean and featured 3 mirrors, including a full length one, and plenty of plugs. The shower was big enough for two as well....after all it is an adults only hotel! The location was great, an abundance of restaurants, cafés, shops, markets and nightlife within minutes walking distance. A 20 min walk to the beach from here too. The streets are kept impeccably clean. Overall, a perfect stay for those who want a peaceful, romantic getaway with a good balance between relaxation and exploration. Also plenty of friendly cats about if you like to pet them!

Location - perfectly nestled in the pedestrianised ancient harbour streets with rooms overlooking the best views in Chania! We had the most amazing stay in Elia Zampeliou. The view from our room (room 7) overlooked the Venetian Harbour and parallel to the Lighthouse. This is the view in all the pictures you see of the harbour. The balcony was ideal to watch the world go by and to take in the stunning views. The room was immaculate and the bed was so comfy. We had everything we needed, from beautiful Greek toiletries, air conditioning, robes, slippers, tea and coffee machine and even a fridge. Staff in the hotel were super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was in Elia Fatima Hotel which was literally 30 metres away up the adjacent street. Breakfast was 10/10, with traditional Cretan options along with yoghurts, honey, jams, fresh fruits, breads, cheeses, eggs, sausages, cakes, croissants etc.. perfectly delicious! The harbour is full of hustle and bustle but that adds to its charm. It can be lively to early hours but it didn’t stop us from sleeping! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would definitely come back. Would highly recommend.

We took a taxi transfer from Heraklion to Hania, the cab driver was unable to get too close as most of the old town is pedestrian traffic only, he just pointed in the general direction. We eventually found the hotel by asking directions, the entrance is in a narrow laneway that is parallel to the seafront. We had booked the Seaview room with balcony - the room was very comfortable with a fabulous view overlooking the harbour (room 7). Functional and clean bathroom. Other reviewers have mentioned noise disturbing their sleep, we heard some muffled noise early hours of a Saturday, arising from the waterfront, nothing of consequence. WiFi signal strong. As other reviewers have pointed out there is no elevator - steep steps -without hand rails is a bit of a challenge when suffering from a recent knee injury and relatively heavy luggage. All staff encountered friendly and helpful - including the breakfast staff - breakfast is served at a sister hotel about 100m down a narrow laneway. Reception even organised a day trip. honey, olive and wine tasting experience when a previously organised trip did not eventuate. Housekeeping please note:- we had to ask for additional toilet paper on three occasions !! - (room for improvement) The hotel is surrounded by restaurants of varying qualities - we tried to eat at the restaurants away from the main seafront after a disappointing dining experience. Sitting on the balcony overlooking the harbour in the afternoons - very pleasant experience.

Very nice stay with a gorgeous view of the Old Venetian Harbour (we had the room woth the balcony) Close to a lot of shops, bars & restaurants. Friendly & helpful staff. Only problem was the place is very noisy when you are trying to sleep. Noises coming from the lobby/ reception early morning & stomping on wooden floors in the room above us. We had to use earplugs to sleep peacefully. Also parking is far away & could use some assistance from the hotel with the luggage (ie golf- cart pick up, I saw other places had). We were tired and drenched in sweat from carrying our bags that far in the heat.
