Excellent... The best service and very good care..   I think the best hotel I have visited in recent years...excellent cuisine with pleasant traditional Greek flavors and sometimes desserts.really hospitable environment without supposedly...

Great place from check in to food. The staff are amazing Receptionist is just so on the ball and kind. Could not find a fault. Beach so close, bus to town outside. Loads of nice walks, nice tavernas close by. Spacious apartment good supermarket next door We will be back

Just got back from a cracking week and this lovely little resort. Location is fabulous - about 300m from a superb beach with beach bars and plenty of sunbeds. There's great access to Chania by foot [about 3km] alongside the sea, by regular cheap bus or road for those with a hire car [plenty of free parking too]. The apartments are modern, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The bed is huge and very comfortable. The bathroom is good too. Cooking facilities are limited to a 2 ring hob and a couple of pots/pans but prices at the pool bar and restaurant are good with generous portions and very friendly staff. Free WiFi was especially good with no limit on the number of devices you could connect and good speed too, The pool is well maintained [no missing tiles/sharp edges], there are loads of comfortable sunbeds and the design of the complex means good shelter from the prevailing North wind on windy days [We were there in mid October] and good exposure to the sun. There are citrus and other trees to provide shade when needed in the central gardens. Happy hour at the bar from 4 - 5pm too. I can't think how anybody could think of this place as a 2 star - it's better than several 3 star places we've stayed at in the Canary Islands. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars - but I was very happy to only have to pay the 2* tourist tax of 0.50€ a room per night [Its 4€ at a 5 *] Many thanks all at Golden Sand for a most enjoyable thoroughly relaxing week.

“Very nice apartments and grounds”

First time in Crete traveling as a family of 4 with teenagers. Unsure of what to expect but the golden sand suites was a very pleasant surprise. The apartment was spacious and clean. The pictures are accurate. They were fully equipped. The staff was friendly and even though we did not have breakfast, they let us take bowls and sugar for cereals, which were the only things missing. The pool was great and we loved that there was grass around, plus it wasn’t facing the street (private to guests only). Transats were always available. The restaurant was also nice; we tried it one evening after returning from Balos very late and were not disappointed: simple but tasty and not expensive. The beaches around are pretty, the closest is typical with a few waves, but you can choose from the different criques: we tried one each day and it was fun to compare. Apart from the beach there is nothing to see in the neighbourhood so the setting of the hotel was very good (closed to the street). I highly recommend, excellent value. Only small negative was the internet working mostly near the pool.
