After 40 years of visiting Greece these apartments were the best I’ve stayed in. Sandy, the host, was very welcoming and friendly and made our stay very pleasant. She helped us settle in and gave us lots of information. The rooms were large and airy with very comfortable beds and plenty of storage. The bathroom was well appointed with complimentary toiletries. The whole place was kept very clean and tidy. Although an extra charge of €12 per day the air conditioning was efficient and quiet. The pool was fabulous with plenty of sunbeds available along with a few chairs and tables. The one downside was the WiFi availability. It dropped out quite a bit and seemed to be switched off between 10pm to 9am, which was annoying if you needed to look things up for the next day. The apartments are on a slight hill but it’s not too steep and you can walk down to the bus stop, shops and tavernas in about 5 minutes. We did this four times a day and didn’t have any problems even though we’re in our 70’s! Try the Virage Cafe for breakfast, it’s excellent, with a great choice at very reasonable prices. The number 21 bus will take you into Chania centre for €2.80 in around 20 minutes or so. They come along about every 20 minutes and run until 10.30 pm. A taxi will cost about €15. We went to a different taverna each night, both locally and around the harbour in Chania and had some excellent meals. I would certainly recommend the Sandy Suites for a quiet and relaxing holiday.

We spent a week here in two apartments.The two apartments differed a bit- ours was fine but a couple of slightly tatty areas, rusty bin, not much kitchen equipment, poor shower water pressure. Our son’s studio was a bit neater but there was no blanket or wine glasses. Only one pillow per person. The air con took a long time to cool the room and was expensive. The WiFi NEVER worked. Beds were nice and comfy. Clothes drying rack and hairdryer supplied. Room swept and towels changed a couple of times. Bins emptied most days. The pool is nice but has no real shallow end so not really suitable for non swimmers- there is a small toddler pool though. We did unfortunately hear the owner being rather rude and aggressive to a family whose child was trying to use the big pool. Breakfast is available if you order it the night before but it was quite expensive. Pool snacks are available but service is quite slow. There aren’t many sunbeds but luckily there weren’t many people using them so that was ok. There was a separate pool building which looked like a pool bar but wasn’t open. These issues may well be a result of EasyJet not paying the owner a reasonable rate! I’ve had lung surgery so do have some health and mobility issues and have to be careful in the heat, so the following is not a criticism, just useful info for future guests. There is no seated shady area around the pool, other than inside the bar, which is not air conditioned. It is a 15 min uphill walk from the beach and then there are steps up to the apartments too. The easyJet listing says this property is ‘beach front’ which is not correct. It does have lovely sea views. The nearest beach is small but lovely, gently shelving and sandy with a good beach bar. The beach bar also rents comfortable sunbeds for 15-20 euros a day for two, and you also receive waiter service. There are several very nice restaurants within walking distance-Nesaki and Salavantes were excellent and Virage was wonderful for breakfast. Good supermarkets nearby. Half hour bus ride into the busy and lovely Chania. Overall we had a lovely holiday for a very reasonable price.
