The hotel is the best choice for a family getaway. Very family friendly in terms of pool areas and food. We also get an extra visit at the Aegeo Spa. The spa and the treatment were really good; it was an amazing experience. Yoadra, the massager, exceeded my expectations and her treatment & technique were unique. I really recommend both the Hotel & the Aegeo Spa; their service is outstanding & we got a memorable experience during our vacation.

“Location, Location, Location!”

The location of this hotel is spectacular - overlooking the sea. It is located well for Chania with a good local bus. The rooms are a little dated, but the food and service is very good. The location of this hotel is spectacular - overlooking the sea. It is located well for Chania with a good local bus. The rooms are a little dated, but the food and service is very good. Value wise, the AI option proved good value, but be warned, the drink choices are limited which is a shame. Finally, we found this hotel to have a relaxed vibe - it’s not a TUI AI location, it’s far more chilled.

“Average hotel with fantastic views”

We are a family of 4 adults and 2 kids under 10 and have just returned from a week stay at the hotel. We had a lovely week however I would say the hotel was slightly disappointing. I don’t understand how this hotel has a 5 star rating, The public areas and the view are great however there is little to no entertainment, no kids club and only one staff member in the animation team who was sick oh our last 2 days so,absolutely nothing on through the day, no music and no atmosphere. The bedrooms are spotless clean and housekeeping do a good job however there is little rooms are very dated as are the bathrooms. In my view, an update is required to both. They are certainly not of 5 star standard. The food was ok for adults and we managed to find something everyday however, the kids choices were very disappointing. I feel this hotel should be adults only as they definitely don’t cater for children at all. Apart from a small swing park and table tennis, there is nothing else for them to do. The family swimming pool is a good size but unfortunately not child friendly as they are not allowed to jump in or even dive under water to play games. I understand why diving in isn’t permitted however the lifeguard on duty was never off the kids backs telling them not to jump in. When I questioned why this rule was in place the lifeguard advised that this pool should be for adults to relax and the kids are disturbing them if they jump in. I found this an astonishing reason and e planned to him that kids don’t want to,relax and if adults do, then the6 should book the adult area of the hotel. Don’t go here is your kids enjoys playing and jumping in the pool as it is s8mply not permitted. The lifeguard also sits in a crone far from the oool so if anyone was in difficulty whilst in the pool, he wouldn’t notice. One positive about the pool area is there is no shortage of sunbeds so therefore no sun bed wars which was a huge bonus. As for the staff, everyone in the restaurant and lobby bar were really pleasant. A few to mention are Nikos, Antonia, Faidra and Giorgos. Also the younger staff at the pool bar were great and we noticed a much better atmosphere when it was them who managed the bar and the one older bartender was off duty. He certainly shouldn’t be in hospitality as was continually rude and dumped our drinks in the bar. Despite the annoyances above we still had a lovely holiday but I wouldn’t return due the the restrictions put on the kids around the pool and the lack of kids choices at meal times. The bedrooms are dated, bathrooms are old fashioned with black mould, over bath showers with no pressure snd only water warm at best and inefficient air con. Views are fantastic. If the hotel had a full refurb and was adults only, it could be brilliantl. Sadly it is nowhere near at this time.

“Fantastic sea views”

Beautiful views as set on a hillside looking over the sea. Food was good and lots of choice. The Al la carte spaghetti Bolognese was excellent. Rooms are very clean and well equipped but a bit dated. The AC was not cold enough for me (menopausal woman). The female staff in all areas (except the pool bar kitchen chef) and the restaurant greeters were very friendly and welcoming however most of the male staff were far less welcoming and all of my group mentioned this. The man who greets you on arrival to the hotel and who delivered our cases to the room was also lovely. Surprising attitude when 47% of Crete's income is through tourism. The pool would have been fantastic if it didn't have so many missing mosaic tiles all over, under the water and around the edges. Two girls spent ages picking loads of loose tiles from out of the pool, they found a couple of handfuls. My grandson didn't notice the missing tiles and ripped his swim shorts on the pool edge on his first day. One of the set of steps for the pool were also loose as was the hand rail in the main lift and the slim metal towers holding the call buttons for the lift on 2 floors were kept upright using wedges. The lobby area was lovely and great to sit in the evening as it has AC. The restaurant has a fantastic setting in the hotel overlooking the sea. Despite the negatives we had a lovely holiday and enjoyed our time in Crete and old town Chania was worth a visit
