In an excellent position on a slight slope. Terraces rooms with views of the White Mountains. Nectarina the lady in reception was a real gem helped us re booking a room on the Omalos and helped with bus routes and times. Lovely rooms with twin beds settee outside table chairs and lounger. A short walk to the beach 5 minutes where there are beach sets for €5 euros a day.A nice little beach bar with reasonable prices. Three large supermarkets within walking distance AB, Ynka and Lidl plus a good minimarket across the main road. Bus stops on main road and beach road. Bus tickets from minimarket saves money €1.20 into Chania. Good car hire company down the beach road.

“Good value for money...”

Nice apartment, stayed for 10 nights. Apartment was never swept or mopped only clean towels given. Outside areas scruffy and unkept. No one was there on check in or out just notes left on reception door. Often no hot water in the mornings.

I visited Rainbow Apartments with three friends, and we all opted to have our own apartment. The place is ideally located for a beach holiday, just a few minutes walk from Golden Beach. It is near excellent restaurants, has a great bakery/café just next door, and is across from a handy supermarket. It's also well placed for bus trips into Chania, and taxis cost only 7-8 Euro into town. It's very easy to hail a cab on the corner by the apartment complex. The area is quiet and felt very safe. The manager is very knowledgeable about the area, available tours, etc., and she was extremely helpful throughout our stay. It was especially nice of her to store our baggage and allow us to shower before our evening flight. She was always available, either in the office or by phone - one of us got locked out and she came within minutes, and she sorted any problem we raised immediately, replacing a shower head within hours of it being reported. We booked through a travel agent and our price included air conditioning, but double check whether this is included in the price on booking sites because it isn't always clear. The apartments themselves were all spotlessly clean (they are cleaned every two days during your stay) and spacious. They offer a fairly well equipped kitchenette and bath with power shower, a sofa, and most rooms have two twin beds pushed together. The beds were the only thing that were a problem for me, as I could feel the springs in the mattresses, but none of my companions noted any problems. Air Con worked very well in my room. There is a safe to store valuables in the room (5 euro per week). There are tables and chairs outside the apartments and drying facilities for clothes. It's a lovely spot to have breakfast in the morning or chill out after a day at the beach. For the price of an apartment, this place is hard to beat in Crete.

It is a complex of self-catering studios and apartments, furnished with taste and very clean. The owneress is very helpful. We also got a seaview apartment that was very comfortable. Only ACs are outdated and more efficient in producing noise than chilliness. It is between 2 beaches Hrisi Akti and Agii Apostoli, both average to what the island offers and not very near 1-1.5 km. The Chania center is 4 km.away, that usually taks 30 min by car. Generally not the best location, next to a busy road with Petrol stations and far from everything, but could be a nice option if one wants to be close to Chania and avoid traffic if targeting the western beaches - 50 min to Falasarna and 1.5 hr to Elafonisi.
