As if a small village of accommodations, low rise blocks of rooms each with their own external door onto private terrace or balcony, are set in beautiful gardens. The hotel has an excellent, good sized, fresh water pool with plenty of sun beds and shade, as well as a friendly pool bar. The rooms are a good size, clean and comfortable. Use of Fridge and Air con. both come with an additional charge, but Wi-fi is free and fairly strong all about the site. The shower room is a ‘wet room’ but a good size and kept very clean. Breakfast consists of a fair choice of hot and cold foods and is plentiful. Service from all staff is warm, welcoming, friendly and helpful. The entrance to this fabulous setting is just a few steps across the road to the waters edge and the pebble beach. Also on the door step are shops (a mini market immediately next door) a couple of bars (quiet- as the tables & chairs are beach side) are directly opposite and plenty more bars and tavernas along the water front all within strolling distance. All in all an excellent choice of accommodation in Kokkari, a beautiful gem of a place.

Athena Hotel is in a fantastic location, just across a small road from the beautiful pebbled beach, and surrounded by lots of lovely bars and restaurants. The staff are pleasant, welcoming, and always helpful throughout the stay. The rooms are clean, basic, and typically Greek in style. They are a little dated, but they have everything you need, including air conditioning and the option of a safe. The beds are slightly on the firm side, but the bedding is good quality and the pillows are comfortable. If you stay in the rooms above the reception area, it can be a little noisy early in the morning as deliveries sometimes start from around 6:30am, but it’s nothing too overwhelming. The breakfast is plentiful but quite basic. There’s bread, jams, butter, meats, a couple of cheeses, yogurt, peaches, honey, boiled eggs, and a choice of three cereals. Tea and coffee are available in abundance, although neither the drinks nor the juices are the best. This is probably the one area that could really be improved. The internet is very slow and difficult to use to make and receive calls, I ended up having to use mobile data most of the time. The pool area is clean and well kept, although it can get busy at times. Luckily, the sea is only moments away and absolutely beautiful. Overall, I would happily return and would definitely recommend this hotel. It offers great value, a brilliant location, and a lovely Greek holiday atmosphere — with breakfast being the only real tweak I’d make.

We loved our stay here and the rooms were good. The beds were more comfortable then they usually are in Greece. We loved our stay here and the rooms were good. The beds were more comfortable then they usually are in Greece. The pool area was good and the woman how worked in the bar was super friendly and helpful! The only negative thing about this hotel is the extra costs for the ac, safety box and fridge. The price was a bit high for all those things. Don’t think you should have to pay for the fridge.
