Just returned from our first visit to the Magda Hotel (and Crete for that matter) for 10 nights. The hotel is very clean and well run and all the staff are friendly and welcoming. We stayed on an all-inclusive basis so there was plenty of food and drink available. Food dishes on offer were varied and not at all repetitive both lunchtime and evenings. There was something for everyone no matter what their particular taste. As mentioned by other contributors, the vast majority of guests were from France but that wasn't an issue as we were all there to just have a nice holiday. Club Jumbo were the entertainment team and they were all young and enthusiastic. A special mention has to be made about Moritz who is guy from Germany. He is an absolute star and put his heart and soul into entertaining the guests. I also need to mention the lovely Festime who was the lady who serviced our room. She is fabulous and a real asset to the hotel. Might have the names wrong, but Eletheria and Natassa served the drinks at the bar with a charming smile and Fanta was our starlet in the dining room. We had a lovely room which had a hot tub on the balcony, but it did seem to have a mind of its own in that it switched on and off at some strange times which may have annoyed people in adjoining rooms. And so in conclusion, would we stay here again? We certainly will.

Everything was perfect! Maria did a great job in giving me all the information about the treatment. Ifigenia did the massage so well! I feel like newborn ✨ In was so happy that I even booked a second treatment the same holiday!

We went here for my husbands 60th birthday and had a swim up room. The room was very modern and had a really comfy bed, the pillows and sheets were of a high standard and the shower was very powerful which is always a good thing when you are away. We had room 1401 at the end which had the sun all morning but as it moved in the afternoon it was then in the shade but there were sunbeds down the side you could move to in the afternoon that had the sun. We were all inclusive and there was always plenty of choice for food although as I always find in many hotels its never very warm. The entertainment I found was not the best and this hotel caters mainly for the French (in fact the lady who took us to our room thought we were French!) and the majority of people staying were either French or German and I found the animation team seem to tell you what was going on in their language in more detail than they did for us so couldn't understand what was going on half the time. The cocktails that were part of the all inclusive were not the best, there was a large choice but they all tasted pretty much the same and not very pleasant. We ended up walking into Gouves which is about a 20 minute walk and going to the Wembley bar where they had the football on and we would have a cocktail here. The owner is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. All the staff were friendly and the room was cleaned with fresh towels every day the lady who cleaned our room was really lovely and worked hard leaving our room spotless. My main issue with this hotel and why I wouldn't return was due to the noise from other guests who had rooms above us with the jacuzzis on the balcony as at night they would be playing music really whilst in the jacuzzi. There was a hen party staying in one of the rooms who did this one night and then the next night the room above us woke me up at 2am in the morning in the jacuzzii with music playing and shouting loudly until 3.30am. Then on the last day we had 2 German lads move into the room next to us with music blaring and they were smoking and shouting on the balcony. I had come back to the room in the afternoon for a siesta as I had not slept for 2 nights due to the noise above to be greeted by this I went out and looked at them and they turned the music down but as soon as I went back in they turned it up again. I went to reception and asked to move rooms as I just needed some sleep and I was quite stressed by this time and the manager moved me straight away to one of the plunge pool rooms which would have been lovely if the weather had been better but it was very cloudy and cool that day but I just wanted a few hours sleep and even though I could see the lads who were next to the room we had been in I couldn't hear them when we were inside. I found out from someone staying near them that they had got through 2 bottles of whiskey and were nearly fighting and there was a burning smell coming from there room. I can't understand why management don't do something about this. The entertainment finishes around 11.15 but people just carry on the entertainment in their rooms not giving a thought for anyone else I think management should be walking the grounds and checking on the noise levels. I picked this hotel because it was in a quiet area I thought people who like to party would go to Zante or party places in Greece so it would be quiet here but that was not the case and it spoilt it for me. Some people may say I an a party pooper but I am at the age now where I go away for some rest and relaxation so if that is your vibe this is not the hotel for you.
