I used the spa facilities in the Albatros hotel in July 2024 & 2025. I couldn’t have been happier with the treatments that I received. On both occasions I booked the full body exfoliation sea salt scrub & fully body deep tissue massage. I booked my treatments via email & received a prompt response with my requested dates & times agreed without any problems. I found the staff in the spa to be extremely friendly & professional. I left the spa feeling relaxed & rejuvenated. I intend to book treatments again this year based on the excellent customer service & facilities. It’s the perfect way to begin your summer holiday.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week holiday at the Albatros 19th September. We had a superior room on the 4th floor overlooking the pool. Room was lovely and spacious with ample storage for the two of us. On entry there was a small alcove housing mini fridge (very useful), free safe and kettle with 2 mugs - (didn’t use their tea bags as always take our own, no coffee sachets provided). Can buy 6 x large bottles of water from hotel for €1.90 which they deliver to your room. Full size ironing board with iron in wardrobe. Bathroom had shower over bath, hair drier and shaving mirror, 1 x bathrobe supplied + slippers for both Bed huge (2 pushed together) was on the firm side (which we prefer) and was very comfortable- slept well. TV on wall but limited channels in English so didn’t use it Loved the food and the restaurant area - we were half board (could swap evening meal for lunch which we did a few times). Unlike many larger hotels where dining room resembles a brightly lit canteen, the restaurant ambience was lovely, with the option to eat outside in a low lit area - background music playing and proper cloth tablecloths. I know many people have commented that the food is not hot, it was fine for us and there is a microwave for those who need to have their food scolding hot! Lots of choice with local dishes, yummy salads and a live cooking station. Limited entertainment- which again suited us as we don’t like to hang around the hotel every night - we enjoyed the duet singers and watched a little bit of the Greek dancing. In the daytime there was water aerobics a couple of times a week which was fun, also 20 min free wine tasting and Greek cooking talk. Pool area was nice with music playing from pool bar. Sunbeds are a bit close together as there is limited space, but we always managed to find one and the way the sun moves across the building means there are plenty of options to be either in the sun or in the shade. Gym was a bit disappointing with weights only going up to 5kg a multi gym machine and some cardio machines so be prepared to improvise if you’re into ‘training’ We found all staff to be extremely pleasant and helpful Location is perfect - didn’t realise Hersonissos is such a big popular place with loads of shops and bars, was glad our hotel was at the end of this by the harbour so nice and quiet. We preferred to go to the 3 smaller villages half hour walk inland up the hill for lovely tavernas and views (hotel will call you a taxi - €12 each way if you don’t want to walk). Didn’t like the look of Hersonissos beach for sunbathe (narrow and gritty sand), so we used to take to bus back towards Heraklion and get off at stop number 1 (€2), beautiful soft sand beach opposite ‘The Twins’ bar with shallow entry to sea, sun beds €8 for set, very quiet hardly anyone there - close to airport so see the planes coming in. Bus stop is close to hotel with good bus service which is nice if you want a day off sunbathing to go exploring. All in all we had a great stay and would return - thank you Albatros

The hotel is very nice. We liked the style of the hotel. The rooms were very nice, just renovated as we were told. The main problem was the restaurant. The food was not always up to our taste but it wasn't bad. The functionality of the restaurant was sad. We had to eat next to a pile of plates (they were not on our table but next to us). We couldn't leave our plates on our table from glasses and it made everything uncomfortable. The worst thing was when we wanted to make a complaint and ask a girl about the manager, she pointed him out nicely but he was horrible. It was like he was making fun of us when we were telling him things, we met one younger couple and they told us that he did the same to them. Very unprofessional.
