We stayed at Astorias in August 2026, with an 11 & 13 yr old. The hotel itself is fairly small & traditional with a reception & pool bar. The hotel & pool area is immaculate!! The cleaners come into the room everyday & are so lovely. Room: We had a 1 bedroom room for 4 people. This was like a large studio style with a bedroom with a double bed & 2 x full beds in main area. As we have older kids, they need full beds & not a pull out sofa, like many hotels have - so this was a real bonus. The room was fairly basic but very big & clean, with loads of storage. The kitchen area was new and modern, the bathroom was a little more dated. The balcony was fairly small for 4 people but I'd rather the space in the room than balcony. We had all the self catering amenities. The hotel pool area has a really lovely luxurious, boutique feel to it. Mainly because of all of the padded cabana beds, which makes it so comfortable to be around. I would say that some of the photos on tripadviser are not representative of how lovely the pool area is (these are old photos). It's beautiful & my daughter loved putting pics on instagram. The pool has a good mix of families & couples. There is a pool table, air hockey etc but it's all fairly small. We paid for breakfast which was hot & cold food - a good selection. There is a shop directly opposite the hotel which is very reasonable - small bottle of water €0.50, small can beer €1.20. Try the homemade wine - €2.89 for 1lr. It was beautiful. As you can see from photos, there are steep steps but this isn't a problem unless you have mobility issues. We saw plenty of young families with pushchairs navigating these. The location is unbelievable - we go all around Greece & Europe in general, looking for nice self-catering hotels in very close proximity to a range of traditional restaurants - this 100% delivers. The village of piskopiano is on your right, literally 300yards away from hotel with beautiful tavernas etc. If you turn left you come to koutoulafari - one of the most beautiful villages we have been to in Greece. Like a postcard - pretty, traditional, full of restaurants. This is about 500yards away from the hotel. We don't often come back to the same place, but we will be returning to Asterias. Don't hesitate to book!!!

A great hotel. Everyone was friendly and attentive, the staff worked very hard. We had a studio room which was spacious but basic however it had all that we needed. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony when we returned from eating out at night. The village has plenty of choice for places to eat and shop. The hotel grounds has lots of steps so be prepared. The hotel and room were very clean. The pool was lovely (a bit slippy when getting in) and the sun beds comfortable. We’d recommend.

Our last day today, have spent the last 10 days here, family of 4, two teenage sons. What a fantastic place this is. Firstly do not be put off by the steps. Unless your constantly leaving the complex or going back to your room constantly (if u have a room off the steps like we did) then you wont be needing to keep going up them. The pool area is beautiful. For self catering apartments, the pool and the different choice of beds, the actual beauty and effort that goes into making it look amazing is out of this world. Cleaners: they do not stop! They are working before 7am when I go down to the beds and are still cleaning past 3pm. They clean everything!!! Rooms: we had one bed apartment with sea and pool view. Basic but everything you need. Coffee machine and pods, kettle, plenty of plug sockets. Bathroom nice size. Shower good. Beds and pillows so comfortable. I asked for another pillow and received one within minutes. Room cleaned every day. Poolbar: amazing staff. Work so hard. Crisa is wonderful. She wont let you move your plate away or take your tea to the table, she says "you are here to relax" all staff fabulous. Food very good. Big portions. Good price. Sunbeds: I was down by the pool ay 7am every day (early riser) and got beds however towards the end of the holiday I noticed more and more towels left out on beds and people not returning for hours!!! This shouldn't be allowed. Its unfair. However today there were more beds delivered. We have had the most amazing 10 days stay here and would highly recommend it to everyone. Our 2nd stay in Koutouloufari and we will definitely be returning.

“Staff were lovely”

The staff make this place, they are so welcoming and friendly. The pool area isn't massive but it's suits the needs of the guests. The staff make this place, they are so welcoming and friendly. The pool area isn't massive but it's suits the needs of the guests. We used the pool at various times and always managed to find a bed for the 2 of us. There is no lift, you have to be able to manage the many steps to access reception and the pool. We had studio room just off the stairs, it was basic, but huge. It could of done with a make over in my opinion, and we struggled with ants, but we thought the more expensive rooms looked nicer than ours. I would come here again but pay for a better room.
