We loved the time we had at the bellos ,Thanos and the team are great ,welcoming and friendly, Maria and the restaurant team were amazing and great ,superb service and food was out of this world, the sea bass ,and salmon ,fantastic, the prawns starter irresistible, and wine best we have had for a long time ,in any greek resort. Stayed in 1 bed apt, had to move rooms after the first night, room 205 due to noise, the room is located near a water tank room or boiler/plant room and the hissing and the clunking kept us up all night, we spoke to our neighbours who said it didn't bother them but it bothered us so we requested to move rooms and they happily obliged. As the hotel was quiet due to end of season there was another room available, not so sure we would have been able to move in the height of the season. rooms v basic and v outdated, not spotlessy clean but ok. beds i thought particularly uncomfortable. balconies small but nice. airer for clothes provided. some detail to cleaning needed in the bathroom. only one plug socket in the kitchen! toaster and kettle provided. i needed to wash all crockery before use as not the cleanest. 2 cooking rings. fridge needed a clean. tea towel provided but you need to take a scourer and washing up liquid yourself. i think the cleaning standards may have slipped in the rooms due to end of season. i don't think our floors were swept or mopped once. we had fresh towels and sheets and beds were changed and bins were changed. stains on the walls near the bin. we didn't pay for air con as not needed, plenty of fresh air from opening the windows was sufficient. gym 5 euro a visit. the grounds are well kept, huge area for sunbathing at the top pool, pools cold but refreshing and clean bar area dated but cocktails and rose wine perfectly acceptable. all of the complex is a little dated to be honest but its adequate. yes its on a hill, and is a bit of walk from everything but we didn't mind this, there's a supermarket at the bottom of the hill, the walk back at night isn't as bad as everyone makes out, just use your torch on your phone, there are some fantastic views on these walks. if you have any sort of mobility issue may not be the best unless your prepared to hire a car or pay for taxis. what makes this hotel are the friendly attentive staff and the outdoor facilities and the fact it is family run. Drinks and snacks reasonably priced. The Saturday BBQ was great as it brought the hotel occupants together and the Greek dancers were also entertaining. I would agree to bring the entertainment a little earlier. We had snack food mainly but had a lovely meal the first night, lamb chops were delicious. Would we go again - Yes i would if the price was right and i don't think i would do any more than a week here. The weather was perfect all week. Its not a 5 star hotel and you know this when booking. I don't think there are any hidden nasties here, go and judge for yourself as everyone has different standards. if your not happy with anything speak to the staff. there is a courtesy room you can use on last day, just ask the staff for the key otherwise ask for late check out. There are plenty of books in the reception area. Pool table, darts, cards and a few other games. All in all we had a lovely break, and i havent been out off with its flaws. go and judge for yourelf.

Apartment Room - 215 Room - Having had to walk down quite a big steep bank we went to the hotel reception. We were told the aircon was 7 Euro extra per night, plus the tax fees, so as we were staying for two weeks, we paid 170 Euros before we even got to our room! We chose not to use the safe for 5 Euros per night as we had locks on our cases. We were led to Room 215 which was on the 2nd floor, we paid extra for an apartment. The room was very basic but clean. A double bed & single in the bedroom and a basic 2 hob cooker with fridge freezer which all worked fine. Our balcony was very small ,but it was over looking both the bar & pool areas, and the mountains to the side so we had pretty good views. Rooms were only swepped not mopped, with clean towels brought etc every other day. The room definitely needs a modern upgrade though as they are really basic and very out-dated. The shower area was fine and seemed a bit more modern than the rest of the room and it worked spot on. The aircon was also really good and kept the room nice & cool. Wi-fi was in the room, but a very weak signal. Pool - There are two main pool areas. The front pool is a good size and has a pool bar with a large lawn area for sunbeds. You can just get up and get your own sun beds and put them wherever you like on the lawn which I thought was a good idea so you are not restricted to one spot. There was always plenty to go around. The 2nd pool with the slides is round the back. This pool is much smaller and has its own bar aswell, with two water slides. Bar Area / Restaurant - The bar area was clean and usually had 70s/80s soul type music playing each day. A round which was a local pint on draught with a large glass of wine, only came to 6.50 Euro which I thought was very reasonable. My only main gripe is they would put quizzes, bingo or karaoke on each night, but these would not begin until after 10pm, which was too late. Especially for people with young kids. Others have also said the same on here and I think it's something they should look into going forward. The roof top restaurant is definitely NOT a la carte!, despite their claims. The food there is a decent standard but not amazing. Also the buffet was the same food each night it seemed... Spaghetti Bologneise, Maccaroni Cheese slices, chicken and rice with a bit of salad. Never worth 18 Euro. Staff - The staff were always polite and friendly and would deal with any request. For example, when we first arrived, we had hardly any coat hangers so I asked the lady at reception if we could have some more, and she came up 5mins later with loads of them for us. Location - Bellos is located midway up a steep hill so you have about a 15min walk down hill to get to Hersonisos, and it is a tough 15min walk up about 3 big steep banks to get to the lovely villages of Piskopiano & Koutoloufari. I would definitely not recommend this hotel for people with any mobility issues. If you need to get taxis, it is 10 Euro a time, no matter where it seems you get them from. One big minus is there is also no supermarket or even shop that is close by. The closest we found was down in Hersonisos which was a good 10 -15min walk away. I would say the people who were staying at the hotel, were mainly a mixture of English & Dutch. Overall we have had a great holiday, it had a friendly atmosphere and the food & drink was well priced. Only things that let the place down are the very basic standard rooms & the location, which is why we'll be trying a different place next year. George & Carly
