“Holiday in Crete”

Everything was fine on my end—the stay at City Green was good. I want to recommend Bogusia from staff if you are from Poland.

I highly recommend the City Green Hotel! The rooms are clean, modern, and well-equipped. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and always smiling. The breakfasts were tasty and varied, and the hotel's location is excellent—close to the main attractions. I have very fond memories of my stay and would gladly return.

“Family Holiday City Green”

We spent seven days at the City Green Hotel. We chose this hotel specifically because we wanted to avoid a place with small children. The location is a major plus—it is close to the town center, shops, and clubs. Old Hersonissos, with its charming tavernas and delicious food, is another great asset nearby. The food at the hotel was good. We found the breakfasts the least impressive, as they were repetitive, but we really enjoyed the dinners. The hotel staff is helpful, though not everyone was always smiling. We particularly appreciated Bogusia, who took excellent care of us; she greeted us warmly and kindly every day, told us about Crete, and even took us for a walk around Old Hersonissos. The room was tiny and, unfortunately, not perfectly clean. Towels left on the floor to be changed were simply picked up and hung on the balcony railings instead of being replaced with fresh ones. The trash bins were not emptied daily, either. The hotel grounds feature two pools, plenty of sun loungers, and a bar staffed by a very friendly bartender. :) Unfortunately, there were quite a few cats roaming around the pool area—which didn't bother us personally. However, the problem was that the animals would relieve themselves near the sun loungers, and the cleaning staff failed to address or clean up these spots.

The hotel is in a nice and quiet area, close to shops and bus stops. The staff are very kind and friendly, especially Ms. Bogusia, who is always happy to help. Unfortunately, there were also a few problems during our stay. The restaurant staff told us not to fill our own water bottles, even though we were told this was allowed. The breakfasts were the same every day, so there was not much variety. There was also an unpleasant smell, like cat feces, in some areas of the hotel. The housekeeping could be much better. The floors were not cleaned properly, and on two occasions the trash was not taken out of our room. We reported it, but nothing was done. The information in the bathroom says that guests can choose when to have their towels changed. We left our towels on the floor as instructed, but instead of replacing them with clean ones, the housekeeping staff hung them out on the balcony. The hotel has a good location and very friendly staff, but these issues should be improved to make guests' stays more comfortable.
