“Lovely little hotel perfectly situated”

Stayed for a week at the end of October. We booked a studio apartment and were given a sea view even though we hadn’t paid the extra for that! The apartment was lovely and the balcony was amazing. Huge and looking directly over the small shingle beach which was only a minutes walk away. The room was cleaned every day and we had clean towels and bedding twice during our stay. We booked the all inclusive package. The food was great. Plenty of choice and always fresh and well cooked. However, if you are looking for a traditional all inclusive package, this is not it. The bar does not have staff on duty during the advertised hours. We only managed to get drinks on one night of our stay. The bar person also works in the restaurant and obviously can’t be in both places at the same time! However, if asked, he will go into the bar area to serve you. This didn’t detract from our experience as we are not big drinkers but I feel the all inclusive tag is misleading. A “Full Board” description would better describe the offer. The hotel is perfectly situated to explore the local area. There is a free bus which runs every half hour from a bus stop just at the bottom of the road. There is a tourist information shop near the bridge over the lake. They have free maps which we found very helpful. The lake is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. There are lots of pretty tourist shops also around few minutes walk from the hotel. Most places are easy to get to on foot but the area is very hilly so may not be suitable for people who are less mobile. All in all, a nice holiday at a great hotel. Just be aware that the all inclusive package may not be what you think it should be.

“Brilliant introduction to Greece!”

What a delightful little hotel, Sophia and Maria were fantastic hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Perfectly positioned just outside the main town area with lovely restaurants and bars around too.

My daughter and myself have just spent 10 lovely days at this hotel .it's the best hotel I've ever stayed at .it's spotlessly clean with really hard working cleaners .everyone s so friendly and helpful especially Maria on reception Sofia in the restaurant and manos in the bar .nothing is too much trouble for them , we were always made to feel welcome. The rooms are lovely and beds comfy with beautiful views from balcony .the hotel is situated in a lovely part of the old town with a short walk to the lake and lovely shops bars and tavernas .we will definitely be returning .

I can’t recommend this hotel enough, it far exceeded our expectations. My mother and I have stayed in many different hotels and this is by far the best. What makes it really outstanding is the care and consideration of the staff, they go out of their way to help you and are always available for your every need. The food was lovely, home cooked and a good selection every day. My mother is a vegetarian and they catered for her by providing several different vegetarian selections each day. Our room was perfect, with a sea view and comfortable beds. It was cleaned every day by a lovely lady who works hard and is very polite. Thank you especially to Sophia the restaurant manager who always greeted us with a smile and couldn’t do enough to help. And to Manos, for greeting us and taking our cases on our first day, for service with a smile in the restaurant and the bar. Thank you also to Maria at reception, always helpful and going out of her way to find things out for us. This was a wonderful holiday and it was the employees of the Mare apartments that made it!
