Located about 250 meters and within easy and gentle walking distance from the promenade containing many good shops, restaurants, bars and cafes, lies this wonderful gem of a tastefully furnished and decorated hotel. We found it just from a Google search and liked what we saw so decided to book the room with the jacuzzi. We weren't disappointed. From the moment we entered the lobby and the warm and friendly reception from Stefanos, we knew we had made a great choice. Kymani really is a delightful gem of a small hotel where style and great taste can immediately be found in the layout, design, furnishings and attention to detail. Perfect for couples who maybe want to just chill and relax and yet be at the very heart of a wonderful Cretan experience, enhanced by the superb supporting efforts of George, Stefanos and Elena who really do go out of their way to make sure their guests have a superb holiday. Our room was very comfortable and clean, as was the covered terrace area offering sea views and of the rugged but beautiful headland. Kymani is set back a small distance from the main road into Plakias and mostly unaffected by traffic noise or noise from any of the local bars. George was a brilliant help in suggesting local restaurants and his recommendations were always spot on. In short, this is a lovely gem of a small hotel and we shall definitely be returning.

This beautiful boutique hotel is exactly as pictured - stylish, minimalist, and thoughtfully designed with luxurious touches throughout. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the shower was powerful, and the amenities were high quality with great attention to detail.. One of the highlights was waking up to the blue skies and the view of the swimming pool just outside my room. Having a delicious breakfast delivered to my private terrace each morning felt like a real treat. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, always happy to help and making everything feel effortles, going out of their way to make me feel welcome. The hotel app was also a great feature - I used it often to find excellent restaurant recommendations. The location is perfect, just a short walk to both the sandy beach and the lovely village of Plakias. This was my first trip travelling solo and I would like to say a big thank you to George and the team for making it such a relaxing and memorable stay. I would happily return and highly recommend it to others.

“I give this hotel a 12 out of 10!!!!”

This hotel gets a 12 out of 10!!!! I truly wish we had spent more nights here. It’s a vacation within a vacation. It’s like being in a fancy luxury spa. It’s outrageously clean and modern. This hotel gets a 12 out of 10!!!! I truly wish we had spent more nights here. It’s a vacation within a vacation. It’s like being in a fancy luxury spa. It’s outrageously clean and modern. We had room 311 ocean view from a huge patio. And the bed also faces the ocean and you can even see the ocean when lying down if your head is on a pillow. The edgeless pool is cool but stunningly beautiful. My husband went in and loved it. We didn’t order breakfast and wine (available from the front desk on their app) until we got here. We thought we would go into town. But once we got here, we didn’t want to leave! So we placed orders for wine and for breakfast. There is a small safe but it doesn’t fit computers but we didn’t use or need a safe as all was secure. The receptionists, Maria and Stefanos, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The bed was king size and medium firm. There is a hair dryer, mini fridge, robes and slippers. There is plenty of storage and places to lay your luggage. There’s plenty of parking. But some of it is on a slope and we didn’t trust our rental car hand brake. The best flat parking lot is the dirt lot on the beach side of the hotel.

I honestly don’t know where to start with our stay at Kymani…. This was our second year in Plakias after falling in love with the place last year, and this year was even better, thanks to a few things, but especially Kymani! My partner, Mitchel, proposed to me on Plakias Beach at sunset but this was only part of the surprise. In the lead up to the proposal, Mitch was in constant contact with Maria, Elena, George and Stefanos to plan it to perfection before we came out! The guys helped organise a balloon arch, candles, champagne, cheesecake and rose petals in the room ready for us, after the proposal when we returned to the room(see the photos). Over the 12 days, we got to know all of the Kymani staff really well - they were SO SO helpful, kind, genuinely caring and passionate about what they do and their guests. They made our stay absolutely INCREDIBLE. We sat down with George one evening for a drink and it felt like friends at dinner. Aside from all this, the hotel is absolutely beautiful, and really love that everything is natural from the chlorine in the pool to the soaps and candles - this is right up our street. George, Stefanos, Maria and Alena, thank you SOOOO much for making our stay truly unforgettable and for going above and beyond. We feel like we left with new friends and some amazing memories!
