We returned from Villa Paradise in May after a wonderful week staying in Villa Cave at Villa Paradise. Serendipity stepped in as this was not the holiday accommodation we had planned but a change made just two weeks before as our original villa elsewhere on Naxos had to cancel us. We are extremely pleased that happened as we might not have found Stefanos and his fabulous villa hotel! Firstly, Stefanos Lampris cannot do enough to help you; he is charming, polite speaks excellent English and welcomes you as if you are long lost friends. Whatever you need to know – just ask and the answer will be found. Help with car hire, restaurants, the best places to visit…all shared without feeling you were taking too much of his time. Maria and her colleagues kept us clean and tidy with smiling faces and fresh linen every visit. Thank you also to the boys on pool service and garden duties. The villa itself is delightful with plenty of space, comfortable bed and outside furniture and most of the kitchen items you might need to prepare breakfast or a snack; it’s lovely to have such a choice of wonderful fresh fruit and veg grown locally. We had the luxury of a choice of patios and sitting areas and could always find shade. Having access to a rooftop patio to watch the sunset is wonderful and two chairs and a small table for your drinks are thoughtfully provided. The pool is a good size and deep so beware small children around it but still cold this early in the year. Hot water is slow to arrive in the bathroom so patience is needed – you won’t get a ‘quick’ warm shower! As mentioned in other reviews there are a lot of steps as these villas are cleverly designed and built into the hillside so not ideal for anyone who has limited mobility. The architect made the most of every natural element of the site and they all nestle into the hillside beautifully. An area of sandy beach is less than 100yds away with sun loungers and brollies provided – we aren’t beach people these days but it looked very inviting and the water is amazingly clear. If you like beaches you can wander at a holiday pace up and down this coast line for hours finding more tavernas and night life at Plaka beach and a quieter region to the south. All water sports are catered for and seemed to be available at a reasonable rate. You will need to hire a car but with ‘google maps’ we had trouble free journeys and saw most of the island. Again – Stefanos gave us a map which he marked up with places to visit, he is an absolute star and truly wants you to enjoy every moment of your stay. Where you go depends on what you like to see and do, we enjoyed a leisurely walk around several interesting villages all with a stop for a coffee and watch the world go by – it’s wonderful! Naxos has a fascinating history and it is worth buying a guide book or doing some research before you go to get the most out of your trip. If you don’t come away wanting to return I’d be surprised……we booked the same villa for next year as soon as we got home! A resident’s bar area where you can have a drink or a simple breakfast is available a little later in the season and you can help yourself to vegetables from the garden – they don’t come fresher than that! Getting off the ferry in Naxos it felt as though time had turned back a few years to when the Greek islands were less busy and a slower pace of life encouraged us to slow down too. Of course the Naxians need tourism but it was lovely to be met with smiles and the Greek hospitality that is not so apparent on some of the very popular islands today. If you travel to Naxos it’s likely to be a combination of ferry from Athens, Santorini or Mikonos which all have airports and if you want to enjoy the slow route you can overnight in Athens near Rafina port ready for the early ferry. There are lots of different ferry routes between the islands in the Aegean but it takes some patience to work out which route will be the best for you. It was a wonderful holiday and we are looking forward to 2027 and meeting Stephanos again.

My family and I just returned from our wonderful vacation at Villa Paradise-Blue and all I can was WOW!!! From the proximity to the beach (just steps away) to the lounge chairs and umbrella that are provided, to the garden breakfast and of course Stefanos who makes sure you have everything you would need (even things you didn’t know you needed)!! You definitely need a car because it is about 15-20 minutes from the port and town, but that makes it perfect because you are away from all the crowds. Our villa had 4 bedrooms and a guest house which gave us plenty of room to spread out. There were many outside areas to sit and relax to take in the views. The infinity pool was beautiful to sit out, relax and look out at the sea, especially since it faces west and you can see the spectacular sunsets. As a family we have traveled the world and we all believe this was one of our favorite spots and would love to return. The rooms were clean (and cleaned daily). The guest house looked brand new and one of the bathrooms has been updated. The bedrooms were fine but some of the other rooms may need an upgrade, but they were definitely more than acceptable. If you want a Greek island that is quaint with lots of things to do, close enough to Mykonos and Santorini for day trips and not overcrowded with cruise ships, this is the island for you. And if you want to stay somewhere that is off the beaten path but close enough to get to the port, town, villages and restaurants, Villa Paradise is where you need to stay.

When I did all the research on places to stay, Villa Paradise checked all the boxes initially. The photos online showed a very pretty outdoor space and a very nice well kept indoor space. Stafanos from the beginning was very responsive and a pleasure to work with (extremely helpful and welcoming) no doubt, even during our stay. When we arrived, the outdoor space was exactly what we imagined and what the photos showed. Views were absolutely beautiful, pool was awesome, beach was so close, market nearby, far enough from the tourists but not too far from all the places we wanted to explore. The only thing I wish was different was inside, it just didn’t feel clean and bathrooms need improvements. If that is not a big deal for you, then this place is just right. We stayed at Villa Blue.
