We had a relaxing holiday in this little hotel. The room was basic but was as expected. It was kept perfectly clean with regular towel changes. There were also blankets in the room for colder nights in October. A hairdryer was provided. The kitchen facilities were basic - a fridge with enough room to store food, snacks and drinks, a toastie maker which we used to make toast for breakfast and two hobs. We were able to cook pasta with vegetables and a sauce on the hob a couple of nights and the other nights we ate out as there were so many good restaurants nearby. The hotel provided some fairy liquid and a sponge scourer and a tea towel for washing up which was handy. Sun loungers around the pool are comfortable. Staff were always eager to help and even arranged for my laundry to be washed when I enquired about washing machine facilities. It’s about 1km to reach the main street with restaurants on it. About 500m requires walking on the road or on the beach - either felt safe, though bring a torch for walking back at night along the beach. There’s a short cut through a field near the hotel, as long as the cows aren’t there! There are lots of great restaurants - we didn’t find any bad ones. Our favourites were Vasilis and King size. For breakfast and lunch try the bakery, Pannapalis, who serve delicious crepes and waffles. For desserts try Yoca, the ice cream shop opposite Vasilis. We hired bikes from Nikos and used these to cycle back and forwarded to the shops, or to cycle to the restaurant Ampeli which is 2km away from the hotel but worth a visit. We also cycled to Kos town, about 12km away, about 6km cycling on mostly flat roads then approximately 6km on the flat cycle path which began at Lambi beach all the way to Kos harbour. There’s whole route felt safe (safer than cycling in UK), though maybe the roads are much busier in the summer than in October when we were there. Only two negatives of the hotel for me - The shower had a curtain which made the small shower area feel much smaller and although the shower pressure was strong, the drainage wasn’t great, so it tended to flood the bathroom a little. Secondly, the wifi in the room wasn’t great and didn’t automatically connect, which I didn’t always realise.

Booked 2 rooms as myself, my sister and brother in law was going away contacted the owner direct around 2 months before we were due to arrive to make sure we had rooms at side of each other was told no and all rooms were full so he couldn't change it. On arrival I was shown my room no 15 which is directly behind the bar which opens 6pm til 1am most nights it wasn't a problem but if there were guests in you can quite easily hear, not a nice view from balcony on to the carpark/ driveway. Didn't spend much time around the pool due to clearly regular guests that spend everyday there same sunloungers etc. Found pool bar on the expensive side €6 for draught beer €4 for can of pop. Rooms were spotless clean very powerful shower, air-conditioning was excellent. Beach was a 5 min walk and 10/15 min walk to centre all flat but no walkway on either side for most of it. Staff friendly but did have the favourites ie regular guests which was a shame, let the atmosphere of the apartments down. Wouldn't stay here again.

The room was a decent size, clean, comfortable beds, good shower, good air-con, very good daily cleaning service. Kitchen equipment was very worn but adequate. The pool area was clean and well maintained, plenty of sunbeds and never felt over crowded, even in mid August. However, The pool area was littered with inflatables and tended to be dominated with kids splashing about and being quite noisy. Although we didn't have a problem with that, that's what kids do. All things considered, I think the manager could have been more considerate with the allocation of rooms. i.e Families with children should be allocated in the rooms on the ground floor by the pool and couples away from the pool where it was quieter. There was a distinct lack of shade in the morning on the room terraces, a parasol would have been welcome. The grounds of the hotel were beautifully presented with an exotic selection of trees, shrubs and flowers. Great location - Tigaki is lovely, very close to the beach and a 5 minute walk to the nearest restaurant and supermarket. We tried a different restaurant every evening and didn't have a bad meal. KIng Size was one of the closest and it was excellent. We will be returning to Tigaki but probably not Miros.
