A great four-star hotel in a cozy, peaceful location, far from noisy neighborhoods and motorways. The hotel has been completely renovated, and the room standard is very good, especially for the price. We stayed in a family suite with a sea view, and it really was a proper sea view, with the water stretching across the whole horizon and the neighboring islands visible in the distance. The hotel is a great choice for families with children up to around 10 years old. There is a wonderful aquapark, a kids’ club, and a very friendly animation team, especially Sonia, who can brighten even the grumpiest child’s day. The daily poolside entertainment was also great. The whole team felt experienced, warm, and genuinely kind. The food was very good, and the staff, especially the hospitality coordinator and the restaurant manager, went above and beyond for us when our child came down with a bad case of viral gastroenteritis. For a couple of days, the chef prepared the plain meals our child needed, and we had no trouble communicating with the staff or getting help with anything we needed. We felt very well looked after. I hope this review reaches the hotel management, because the staff involved truly deserve recognition for doing such a wonderful job. Thank you!

“Lovely, no-frills kind of holiday, but enjoyed by all”

In a nutshell, this was a great holiday with the family and don’t really have anything negative to say. Longer version-First impressions, very clean and everyone seems very approachable and friendly. Main car park just outside hotel where we could park our hire car for the weekend free of charge. Helpful staff on golf carts to transport luggage to your room. Rooms are ground or first floor, and we stayed in 1716 which was not really overlooking anything fancy but was quiet and far enough away from any loud activity. Now be aware, we booked a junior suite but all this means is it’s a one bed apartment with the sofa bed extended. So we had no where to sit unless we sat on our beds or on the balcony. And if you’re sharing with other adults, the bathroom is off the front ‘lounge’ so if you need a midnight wee, you’ll be disturbing whoever is in the front room. However for us as a family we found it fine for what we needed. 2 pools to choose from plus an additional adults only pool. They open at 10am and close at 6pm. Large “wave pool” which doesn’t really do much other than lap waves at the edge, and the kids splash pool with multiples slides and water fountains. This pool was very cold most days, whereas the wave pool was slightly warmer. Both very enjoyable though given the warm temps each day. There were plenty of sunbeds but do put your towels down early to get a spot under the umbrellas. The beach is literally at the back of the hotel and the sunset each night was impressive! No need to travel to Zia for the sunset as it’s right on your doorstep! Nice views of Turkey too. The all inclusive was as expected, meals were rotated and saw something new each evening however we found that the main meal the night before was then redistributed the following day in a salad version. Food was pretty standard, nothing too fancy but also plenty of variety. Ice cream available at meal times but not free the rest of the time. There is a gelato bar by the pool but this is chargeable. The Al a Carte restaurant was a complete waste of time-they only offer the same 3 meals each night (pork, chicken or fish) and nothing for kids. We gave it a try on my birthday and they did a cake and sang happy birthday but the cake was not nice at all and we just felt a bit of a nuisance (like they didn’t really want us there). There were other tables there of Greek people and they were having a wonderful time so not sure if we ended up mistakenly gatecrashing another party but as it’s only pre bookable through reception I’m not sure how that could’ve happened. We ended up just going back downstairs to the buffet to finish our evening meal and celebrate my birthday. Drinks are again pretty standard for AI. Nice cocktails, local beer on tap (pour yourself) and soft drinks available. Other drinks are available at a cost. There is a snack bar which serves hot food at lunch but other cultures do not queue in the same manner us brits do so it’s basically a free for all, with long waits for the pizza. It is worth the wait though as it’s homemade stone baked pizza which was delicious! Would be better to have a seperate line for the pizza. Evening entertainment again pretty standard, nothing too special but I felt it was quite late (starting at 21.15) and the kids were exhausted by then so didn’t get to watch much of it. Pool table and air hockey take euro coins so make sure you have some although the bar will change notes for you. There are remote control cars for kids to drive which are €10 for 30min-very popular so take some cash!! Nothing much nearby, and nearest town is a good 20min walk. However the hotel does offer bikes, 4x4 buggies and car hire should you require this. Shop on site which sells all the essentials, and reception are really helpful with any additional requests or concerns. Would also recommend giving Mount Dikeos a try (hiking) as the views from the summit are incredible. Genuinely enjoyed this holiday and would say it’s slightly above a no frills experience. I would be happy to return in the future.

Family holiday with a 3 year old. Rooms were spacious, clean and balcony great size, we was ground floor with view of big pool & sea which was fab. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room. Walk in shower. Fridge. Hair dryer. The complex is out of the way so €15 taxi each way to kos town and tigaki which was great, The pools are good clean and tidy. No need to rush for a sunbed as plenty available all day. The big pool is wave pool and the splash park was great for all ages. Onsite park. Pool bar is good, good selection of cocktails and drinks. Snack bar also good with daily fresh made pizza’s. The main restuarant is very repetitive and food often cold as usual for buffet. Plenty of seating available, busy times are 8am and 7-8pm. did not get to use Ala carte. Staff are lovely. Over all good holiday.

“Cheap and Cheerful”

We stayed at the White Olive in May and we came earlier than the start of half term, with boys age 8 and 5. The hotel was quiet for first few days but soon became busy. I would say this hotel is very much budget so if you’re not overly fussy you’ll have a nice time. The pool and slides are fab for kids and you can use inflatables on the big orange slide. However both pools are freezing and the first few days were windy so you were really feeling the cold when you got out. The sunbed area is very crowded and unfortunately the grassy area isn’t the nicest to pitch up so means poolside is crowded. The usual beds being reserved with towels for hours without anyone near them and you need to be up by 730 to bag a decent spot. The bedrooms are great, very spacious and comfortable. Lots of storage and cleaned daily. There was an awful drainage stench in the bathroom and so had to keep window open to get rid of the smell. You could never get a hot shower in the evening either. The food across the hotel is the biggest let down. I’ve seen reviews on here about the pool snack bar and pizzas being taken so quickly. That is very much the case and unfortunately there isn’t much choice of anything else to eat. Pizzas are lovely if you are lucky enough to get one. There was only one oven working which broke down on one day so staff can’t keep up with the demand. Big queues as well. The main restaurant food was awful, probably the worst all inclusive we’ve tried. There is not as much choice as I’ve experienced in others. Some of the meat was undercooked too. It’s also a fight to get your food, very busy. All the help yourself drink station are cheap versions of coke, Fanta, lemonade, not very nice. Kids enjoyed the kids cocktails. By the 2nd day we headed in to Kos town and found a lovely Beach Bar with nice food. The hotel is very secluded, no restaurants nearby but the hotel will arrange taxi to Kos which cost €15 each way. We liked the Gelato shop where you could buy ice cream, waffles, crepes. However sometimes the lady working there would make you wait unnecessarily which is a bit annoying. There were some lovely parts to the holiday but lots of parts which let it down, I would describe the hotel as cheap and cheerful. If the food could be improved, that would be a good start!
