We want to write this review because it was our first visit to the Hotel. All the good things we read about before arriving at the hotel were true and even more. If your priorities are safety, refinement, a calm atmosphere, then this is the right place. We were with adult children and our priorities were a safe area, without small children crying around (sorry for the frankness), a pool and quick access to a private beach. As well as air conditioning in the rooms and not miniature toilet rooms with showers. The gardens around are unique. Tropical flowers and trees that are cared for around the clock. The pool outside with fresh water is a miracle. The sea is wonderful. Small things that are really important are perfectly thought out. The hotel has permanent club members and I understand why. This is our choice for the coming years. The staff is very attentive, polite and educated. Everyone speaks German and English. It's wonderful. Separately, I must say that the general manager Theodore is a very kind and sensitive person. He will pay attention to details and help you at any time. He is a true professional in his field. We can say this as we ourselves work in the hotel business in Scotland. The hotel justly deserves four stars and there are very few such hotels in Corfu. Restaurant Prospero is very good. I want to note once again that all the employees of the reception, spa, restaurant, housekeeping, maintenance did not leave us indifferent and gave us a sincere feeling of comfort and reliability. Unfortunately, we do not remember the names, but we sincerely thank you. To some extent, I would like this hotel to not have too many visitors :) I want to keep this corner of paradise to myself. We hope to come to you again.

“Very relaxing aside from the piped music”

Stumbled across St George’s Bay Country Club 18 months ago while searching for something to do on a wet, stormy autumn day in Corfu. We discovered the Ivi Spa and ended up spending a fantastic day enjoying the beautiful indoor pool and sauna complex. Fast forward 18 months, and after an injury we needed somewhere with easy access to the beach, hotel facilities, and amenities. Thankfully, the resort delivered exactly that. We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the evening sun, which was a real highlight. Other positives included a full-size fridge and a shower with excellent water pressure. There is also an electric hob, although it was extremely slow to heat up — fine for warming milk perhaps, but not really practical for cooking. The resort itself was very quiet during our stay, with only a handful of guests, mostly German couples. Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing and peaceful, with one major exception that would probably stop us returning. There is piped music playing virtually everywhere throughout the property. We don’t remember it from our first visit, but this time it felt intrusive, unnecessary, and far too loud. I found it especially distracting when trying to relax by the outdoor pool, in the restaurant, or at the spa. On one occasion, despite being the only guests near the outdoor pool, we asked if the volume could be lowered, but our request was refused. In the end, we had to wear noise-cancelling headphones just to escape the constant background music. That said, it is a genuinely nice place. The staff are very friendly, the grounds are immaculate, and it could easily feel like a true oasis of calm — if only the piped music were toned down. It’s very close to a Acharavi and there are many restaurants and cafes within a short walk or drive both in the town and beside the sea

This hotel has many good qualities in the excellent staff, the beautiful well kept gardens and the excellent outdoor pool and the very peaceful atmosphere. The apartments are clean bright and comfortable but not 4 star. The food however, really let this establishment down. The website talks of a great breakfast buffet with plenty of fruit, juices and a muesli bar. In actuality most of the fruit is tinned not fresh, there are three lack lustre juices orange , grapefruit or multivitamin and the muesli bar consists of basic muesli with the usual display of dried fruit and few nuts, nothing special. The continental meat was mainly unidentifiable and some very odd colours, The cooked food was good if you managed to get there when it was put out and hot but often was cold due to dishes not being kept warm. All in all sadly a very average 3 star buffet. We only ate in the restaurant in the evening on one occasion thankfully as the food was so tasteless due the chef not seasoning anything. When I queried this was told that seasoning was individual thing and it was up to diner to add salt and pepper! This would prove a little difficult as no condiments were provided on the table but only baskets of paper packs of salt and pepper, not exactly what we expect from a 4 star establishment. The evening was not helped by the waiter bringing main courses before we had finished starters and attempting to remove my husbands plate whilst he was still eating. This complex will give you a very restful, relaxing holiday as indeed overall we did have. However, given our dining experience and the fact we thought apartments were vastly overpriced we would not return. Cannot comment on the spa as we did not use it.
