Anyone going to Corfu for the first time would be well advised to visit the Angelika. Let's just say you won't find a better welcome from Spiros, Angelika and Eda and the family. These hardworking people are the most friendlist of all the people we have come across in Corfu. Agios Gordios is a very special place to go on holiday, if you like to relax and enjoy watching the world go by. Spiros, Angelika and the team make everyone most welcome. The apartments are bright and so clean. The pool is a delight. The restaurant is set in a beautiful area where you can sit and enjoy a leisurely breakfast/lunch/dinner and not forgetting the famous BBQ. Angelika makes some wonderful homemade meals and Eda makes a mean cooked breakfast too! This small friendly complex is a sight to behold nestled in the village overlooked by pine clad forests. The scenery from the top of the hill is breathtaking. The beach is a matter of a few hundred yards away. The golden sand is soft, sometimes a few pebbles appear if there has been a storm out to sea. The sea is crystal clear. The village houses a number of restaurants to suit all tastes. The local shops cater to all the tourists with newspapers from home, fresh cooked pastries and bread. Sandwich bars make lunchtimes easy, there is so much choice. There are also a couple of internet cafes to keep up with the e-mails back home. There is Aqualand 15 mins. away, ideal for cooling off and the children will love it too. Dr. Spiros has a surgery a couple of yards from the hotel - and speaking from experience you get better service than in the UK. The chemist is in the next village, so you may need to take the bus which is just across the road, or a taxi, the rank is opposite the surgery. Corfu Town is a short bus ride away and is well worth a visit during the cool evenings. Pleanty of shops for the shopaholics - old and new stores, some British brands too - M & S! We are going back again this summer (2007). If anyone sees Spiros and the family tell them Tina and Mal from Swansea say a big hello and get the Mythos ready! Don't just take my word for it - live it - you will not be disappointed. One thing take plenty of high factor sun cream Piz Buin is excellent and also mozzie spray/plug in.

“Friendly Welcome”

Myself and my fiance travelled to Corfu with our eight month old son. Arriving at the Angelika apartments we found them to be on a small steep slope towards the back of the resort. Due to the location and number of steps the apartments are not ideal for prams but can be managed depending on the level of effort you are willing to put in.The owner and manager of the apartments, Spiros, obviously takes great pride in his accomodation as the rooms, as well as being spacious, were immaculately maintained. Views of the hills from our room were also excellent although I do not expect all the rooms have this benefit. Our only slight grumble was the lack of a wall mounting for the shower head which made the whole process rather more involving than it needed to be. The pool was clean and pleasant to chill around and the staff were very freindly and helpful, a comment that could be extended to all the locals we met in Aghios Gordios. They were especially warm towards our son who I am sure enjoyed the attention they lavished on him. The rest of the resort is very nice despite the rather cramped main street leading down to the beach. We ate out six of the seven nights and have no complaints. The food at the Angelika was also very good. We travelled in May and despite one rainy morning and a couple of cloudy afternoons the weather was just right for us.

“Overrated.”

Don't get me wrong, its not bad, but we've stayed at much better places. We looked at a number of favourable reviews before booking, but, with hindsight these were from people who return there every year, so hardly impartial!
