We just arrived back from one week in Ella Alkyna. On arrival we were quickly checked in and given information about the Ella app, this gives all the details of restaurants and activities, it was easy to download too. Ermiston took us by buggy to our building and helped us to our room. He was a lovely man who gave a really positive impression, pointing notes of interest on our way to the room. Also, during our stay on passing, he never failed to ask after us and how we were enjoying our stay. A real personable approach that makes a difference. Our room was number 4303, nice clean room, with everything we needed. Fridge with soft drinks and water. Thee most beautiful sea view from our balcony. The only negative we experienced was the bed, it was a little lopsided on my side, I did report to guest services, but no action was taken. The making of the bed was curious, a flat sheet over the mattress only tucked on one side, it gave the impression of sliding around during sleep and was half off the mattress each morning. A simple fix would be a fitted sheet, or show staff how to do envelope corners around all sides. We did have 3 options in the speciality restaurants but all were fully booked. However the food in the buffet restaurant was lovely with great choice and diversity. I would imagine it would cater to most diets. We tried all bars and were happy with service at them all, always a decent cocktail to be had and many brands to choose from. We would like to mention particular staff that made an impression: In buffet dining, Artemis really stood out as a good leader and someone who had passion for her role, she really would take the time for moments of chat and recognition. She recommended a lovely greek wine too! What a lovely young woman who added to our holiday experience. I also observed her guiding and mentoring newer staff wonderful openess and kindness. It's always important to me to see evidence that staff are treated well. Other staff in the restaurant were Tanya, Elisa and new member Cherish, who is a wee star with genuine kindness to her customers. In the bar in retail area Giselle was another lady who really stood out, demonstrating dedication and a watchful eye over her customers. Sophia also stood out to us. Marr at the beach bar was friendly and always served you with a smile. We didn't experience any of the long waits mentioned previously, usually we had a drink within 10mins. This is a lovely hotel, that would suit people who are looking for peace and a quiet vibe. Entertainment is low key with musicians/singers most nights. The roof bar is more lively with a DJ some nights, but not for people looking for clubbing. Daytime activities are based around wellness/yoga. If your holiday type is music at the pool and games, with waiters bringing round cheap booze and shots: this is not the place for you! We spent time on the beach loungers each day and signed up twice for the trip to Corfu town. We also did a tour with Governer olive oil and booked through their website, it's cheaper here and they will pick up/drop off. When in Corfu Town, walk to Garista bay area, lovely taverna choices in tree lined avenue overlooking the fort. In Agios Gordios we went to the Greek night at the romantic palace, it was wonderful and we'd highly recommend. Book in advance though! Thank you for a lovely holiday, we would definitely recommend.

We had an excellent experience. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was great, and the cocktails were plentiful. Easy to get transportation from the resort to other areas of the island. Old town Cofu was great and very European. We would definitely recommend for a very relaxing experience either sitting by the many pools or beach area. Never far away from food or drink with staff always there to assist.

Philoxenia is a Greek word that translates literally to "love of strangers". More broadly, it means hospitality and in Greek culture, it is a deep-rooted moral code, state of mind, and way of life that involves treating visitors and strangers as cherished friends or family. This hotel with the very visible and wonderful manager and all the excellent, hard working staff show us all the true meaning of ‘Philoxenia’ and give us holidays and memories that are 10/10. We had such a wonderful stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt calm, stylish, and genuinely welcoming. The views were absolutely stunning, and the whole hotel had a relaxed luxury feel without ever feeling pretentious. The rooms were beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. We especially loved the peaceful setting and how easy it was to completely switch off and unwind. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with plenty of choice and fresh local flavours, and the staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and helpful. What really made this hotel special for us was the overall experience — relaxing by the pool, enjoying the sea views, and watching the sunsets each evening. It felt like the perfect balance of comfort, elegance, and laid-back holiday vibes. We left feeling refreshed and already talking about coming back. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful escape in Corfu.
