This was our 3rd stay in 3 years at the Palatel Hotel. Suffice to say we've never been disappointed. This year was a bonus as by chance we were in the very same room as the 1st year. Rooms are generally a good size, although I'm aware some corner rooms are smaller. All the staff are very friendly, helpful and welcoming and remember you from previous visits. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen events the restaurant was closed in the evenings. However, breakfast was good, cooked food could be warmer but a good selection. Rooms and area were very clean. Nice size pool which is shared with the adjacent Gouvia Hotel. We love Corfu. Personally my 8th visit to the island. We shall return to the Palatel hopefully in 2026!

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming and explained everything we needed. We had Room 213 on the second floor which overlooked the pool.  The room was quiet, a good size, clean with blackout curtains.  Plenty of hanging space with plenty of wooden hangers and two big drawers underneath the wardrobe.  Air conditioning is good and quiet.  As normal, it does stop when the patio doors are open and when you take the key out of the socket. There is also a large fridge that had a complimentary bottle of water on arrival.  The bed is firm but comfy with good quality.   Bathroom was a good size and clean with a large storage cupboard under the sink. There is a hairdryer in the bathroom but it's not very powerful. The shower was always hot and powerful although the shower curtain is a bit short so you have to be careful otherwise the shower water comes out into the bathroom. The curtain also sticks to you at times.  You cannot drink the tap water and I also recommend that you use tap water for brushing teeth as the tap water is very salty. Our balcony was a good size with plenty of room for two chairs and a table.  Other balconies had a small sofa, chair and table. As other reviews stated, you can see into other balconies and they can see into yours but you can't see the people next door so does it matter.  The shared pool is literally up 4 steps but is not owned by Palotel. The majority of sun loungers could do with replacing but not sure if this hotel can do much about it. Bins emptied but the area around the pool could do with a good power wash. Breakfast was good and consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, cooked (not always hot), pastries, bread.  We felt there was plenty of choise so not sure what other reviews mean.  Staff do stand nearby ready to help but I never felt uncomfortable. Outside the hotel, Gouvia itself does look tired with rubbish around and quite a few buildings shut up. Again this isn't the hotel's fault.  Outside this hotel is was spotless. We hired a scooter from Takis and Kelly bike hire which was just up from the hotel.  Very good. They made sure we were comfortable with the scooter and that they were happy we were safe before we were let go. Good places to eat were Moukas and Red chilli (curry house). We also had a few meals at Sayam (Thai/Chinese) which were all good but you are best booking as they get full quickly.  All in all we enjoyed our stay at this hotel but can't say it's a Luxury 3* more like a good 2/3*

“Beware of the small rooms”

We stayed at the Palotel Hotel 20th July 2025 for seven nights. When we booked the rooms advertised were the larger rooms. When we arrived we were shown to the rooms. I said to the receptionist it was very small she said all the rooms were the same size, obviously not the room was allocated beside the boiler room and cleaners cupboard. There were three rooms on the bottom floor my friend and I were in one room a solo traveller in the middle room and my sister and niece were in next room. The room was very clean and well decorated but extremely small you could not walk past the other person in the room you had to stand to the side or sit on the bed, my suitcase was on the floor not good when you are staying for a week. We all feel we paid a lot for the holiday and the room let it down. Also the pool area was not clean there was cigarettes and bottles left everyday.

Just arrived home today. Hotel was OK but definitely not luxury as name suggests. We stayed at Palapart 3 years ago. Same company and far superior. Room was very small and shower tiny and inconsistent water temperature. The pool area is awful. Old tatty sunbeds. Pool actually belongs to hotel next door and Jet2 never mentioned this. Over the whole week, never saw a pool person cleaning pool or checking water cleanliness. We went to beach most days as pool area definitely not appealing. Would we return - no. Expect higher standards.
