Very nice hotel, grounds and position right on beach, the room was very nice when we got it had to wait overnight in Junior suite which sounds nice but very small bedroom and balcony and right in corner of building so not a lot of sun, had to wait following day after midday so could not unpack. Had very nice room but had sun in afternoon and it was so hot but if that's what you like just our preference. OK food was not too good so started to eat out, fish finger and puree carrots for lunch, or dinner choice rabbit, pork roll or fish but plenty salad and chips morning, noon and night or fried pots some days no puddings at all, when they did come out they were good some days you could find something which was nice. Drinks so watered down you might as well be drinking water day and night, but super market opposite so you could buy decent wine or beer [not the point when fully inclusive]. Lets mention pool lovely but so small with never any sunbeds available I only managed to get one once too many people for the size of pool unless you want to get up at 06.00 in morning but I didn't I am holiday, Roof top bar beautiful had some good nights and wonderful views the only problem it shut at 11.00pm could have stayed open till Midnight which would have been perfect. Overall would go back fantastic location, and want to say big thank you to all the lovely staff from cleaners, reception, bar staff made us feel very welcom.

“Definitely not a five star hotel, saved by it’s location”

Ok positives first! The location is absolutely perfect. Right on the beach, the pool was lovely, never a problem getting a sunbed. However I imagine I’m summer it’s a fight for the beds. Negatives- this hotel is definitely not a five star hotel. TUI rate it as 3+ and I’d say that’s where it lies.… more

Ok positives first! The location is absolutely perfect. Right on the beach, the pool was lovely, never a problem getting a sunbed. However I imagine I’m summer it’s a fight for the beds. Negatives- this hotel is definitely not a five star hotel. TUI rate it as 3+ and I’d say that’s where it lies. The food definitely isn’t 5 star. It was very repetitive, quite tasteless and lots of cheap food options. Lots of bowls of plane pasta. Not 5 star food. One night there was basically a ham sandwich with cheese sauce poured over it and that was described as soufflé! There was hardly any fresh fruit at breakfast. Lots of tinned fruit. We’ve stayed at the Bitzaro Grand in Kalamaki and the breakfast was amazing. After eating on the first day I had a very upset stomach and I’d had nothing but hotel food. The drinks are not the best! The cocktails are very sickly and don’t taste of much. An alcohol free beer was 5 euros!! I went and bought a can from the local supermarket for 1 euro. The all inclusive drinks option was poor, anything nice was charged extra. The children’s play area was dirty, many of the toys were broken, the Connect 4 didn’t work and the Astro turf was covered in grit from where something had been taken away. It definitely needs updating. There was bird poo all over the floor. It needs a canopy also because when the sun hits it you can’t put small children in it because it’s boiling. There’s a grassy area with lots of outdoor seating and while we were there it was being varnished. Now in my opinion this should have been done already. The hotel is supposedly open to full paying guests yet they’re still painting! This area looks like a garden centre trying to flog furniture. The entertainment was poor, a singer with a speaker. The Greek night was ok but the dancers cleared off during Zorba which is the song everyone knows!!! The hotel itself is clean but it just lacks something, it’s trying to be a five star but is nowhere near. We also had to pay 15 euros a night island tax. Which is so overpriced for what is provided. A good holiday, saved by the beautiful location but let down by poor food and shoddy maintenance.

We spent a week at the Galaxy resort in Laganas, Zakynthos. Room had a good layout with double bed and small single for our toddler. Relatively clean and towels changed daily if needed. However our room was right outside the cleaners room and they could be heard from 6/6:30am in the morning which was disturbing. Decent swimming pools (main and a small children’s pool) and hotel is right on the beach. There is a couple kids play areas, website for the hotel could do with updating the photos as slightly different to what was there when we stayed. Rooftop bar was probably one of the best features - great view, mostly quiet and friendly barman. Entertainment was quite minimal (one Greek night, rest of the time it was just guitar/keyboard and vocals.) restaurant had a good range and selection of foods each night which was good - however there were at least 4 occasions when the restaurant didn’t open on time, two of these occasions we were stood outside on the lobby for 15 mins which was really poor with guests queuing. Servers friendly and efficient at meal times. One very disappointing feature was the cocktail menu for all inclusive - this only had around 8 cocktails to choose from - other cocktails which I would view as standard for an all inclusive (such as mojito) were charged extra at €10 each. A pina colada which was included on the all inclusive menu - the mocktail version was charged at €7 which I think is really poor and leaves those who weren’t able to drink alcohol (like myself) unable to enjoy any type of mocktail as all I ended up having was a juice mixed with lemonade as my options….. I expect I much larger range of cocktails for an all inclusive. Another downside is that although the hotel was on the beach with access to sunbeds, these beds were charged at €20-€25 per day for hotel guests. Again, I think this is really poor for an all inclusive where you are paying a decent amount to stay in a 4 star hotel to then have to pay more more for a beach sunbed for the actual hotel you are staying at. Although some positives, I am quite disappointed with a few features and would not fully agree that this “4 star hotel” offers the all inclusive experience which I feel is standard and expected for an all inclusive holiday. Local area was great, locals are super friendly and fun train picks up from outside the hotel to go to Zakynthos town. Plenty of trips to book as well.

The location is absolutely beautiful as it’s on the beach and that for me is what gave it the three stars. I really don’t understand how this has got a 5 star rating - because it’s not, TUI got it right rating it a 3 star. The restaurant is small and there’s only 6 high chairs which meant most nights people were waiting for the next high chair to become free! One of the evenings, dinner opens at 7 and by 7:15, every single highchair had gone so babies were sat on laps! If you don’t have children, I know that’s not an issue, but for us it was! It’s the same foods most days for lunch and dinner and just leaves little to be desired - very small amount of vegetarian options and lacking in fruit options. Not lots for kids to eat either. The children’s play area left little to the imagination and unfortunately needs a lot doing to it: old broken toys, artificial grass that had rolled up in some areas, no covering so was absolutely cooking most of the day. Very dangerous areas in the area with wooden planks covering holes, and large parts of the fences wobbling. My daughter on the last day picked up a toy that actually died her hands blue. The grounds are absolutely spotless but when you look closer, things really need a good touch up as up close everything is quite run down. They had started to do it all up in the week we were there- not good enough getting things ready for the holiday season when you already had people there. People are allowed to smoke everywhere so even sitting by the pool, people were smoking which was just absolutely vile. The rooms were cleaned to an okay standard, the glasses in our room were never collected so we had glasses sat there. The bins weren’t emptied on one of the days - just overall feels quite lazy cleaning. You have to pay for the beds that are directly part of the hotel area on the beach: find that shocking, should be free! Also most drinks on the all inclusive menu you have to pay for unless you want a watered down beer or cocktail: €5 for a non alcohol beer or even €5 for an iced coffee! Every all inclusive I’ve ever been to has had these included! You can’t even have the local alternative spirits, they’re paid for! All in, an okay hotel, beautiful location and that’s what makes this hotel special, unfortunately that’s the only thing that holds it down.
