Myself and my two daughters (22 and 16) have just returned from a fabulous week at Filoxenia apartments. We arrived late on Sunday night and thankfully just caught the end of BBQ night which included some amazing fresh food. The hotel grounds are very green and the home grown produce is evident on site. Our apartment was fairly basic however was clean and beds were comfortable. We had sufficient towels which were replaced every two days. There are two pools, one large and one smaller and lots of sun beds and parasols. Some of them could do with replacing however. There is also a small jacuzzi pool. Within walking distance are some very good restaurants and bars, our favourite was Billy's and Sunset beach bar. The beach is around 10 minutes walk away however is quite pebbly so we couldn't really enjoy a beach day close to the hotel. The fact that the airport is nearby is really not a problem, I really don't understand why people raise it as an issue! All staff at the hotel are lovely and accommodating and ensure any queries and problems are dealt with. Nero and Rae, the hotel dogs are adorable also. There are a couple of excursions centres nearby and we booked to visit Halki island which was brilliant and enabled us to enjoy the beach. We would definitely return to this wonderful hotel!

This place is a little gem, what a fantastic week we had, the staff are wonderful, they work really hard and are so friendly. The rooms are as expected, you have everything you need, the beds were comfortable, separate bathroom, small kitchen area and TV (which was great for the late World Cup games), the towels and bedding are changed regularly, we didn't feel the need for air-con as our room was cool enough with the curtains closed but a great extra if you need it. The food was delicious, very generous portions, we ate there most nights and tried almost everything from the Greek side of the menu, the BBQ night was a bargain, €24 euros for a three course meal, the rice and potatoes were to die for. There are other places to eat within walking distance, we tried Billy's and the food there was good. The pool area is clean and tidy, no sun-bed wars and no need to reserve at the crack of dawns, the pools are lovely and refreshing, balls, lilos etc are permitted which was great. There is mini golf and table tennis available at a small cost. The location is fab, a short transfer from the airport, beach is less than 10 minutes walk and there are 3 supermarkets within a 15 minute walk. I would recommend a visit to the old town, get an early bus so it's quieter, we took one just after 8 which gave us a full day to explore and see the sights. It's a very relaxing tranquil place to be, if you enjoy sitting by the pool, reading, going for a dip, sunbathing and eating great food I would 100% recommend it. It is very chill, the owners are visible and very helpful, we had issues with our electricity which was sorted quickly, there are two lovely dogs who enjoy a little pat and of course it would be Greece without a cat or two, they are also friendly. Be sure to walk to the beach to watch the sun-set at least once, you won't regret it. We had the most wonderful time and we will most definitely visit again.

Staff were very helpful, apartments were basic but serviceable. When we reported an issue with the bathroom light and the shower they were both fixed the next day. Had one evening where the water was completely cold so no shower that night and another day where water seemed to go off and on intermitently but wasn’t a major issue. Despite very few people mentioning it you are right under the flight path. It’s noticeable but not unbearable. The one thing I did find a bit annoying is that even though we’d booked a self catering holiday we weren’t allowed to take our own food and drink down by the pool, which made it quite expensive, keep having to buy food from the restaurant. Also we were allocated a triple room (there were only 2 of us) which meant we were charged air con accordingly, again an extra expense I didn’t really need.

Lovely staff , great bar and restaurant area and really great pools. The apartment was cleaned daily by friendly staff and the only disappointment was the limited kitchen facilities . No toaster and no oven, just a hob. Location very good and yes, quiet but that’s fine because the beach was fairly close by and there were some good places to eat and drink if you wanted a change. Bus into Rhodes was too busy and chaotic and we only went once!… that was enough! Yes I would go back to this hotel … missing it already !
