What a wonderful week my daughter and I had here! Peaceful, relaxing, spotlessly clean, friendly, helpful staff and really good food! An excellent base to explore the beautiful island of Rhodes. We did two boat trips, one to Lindos and one to Symi. We also got a taxi to Rhodes Old Town (as we missed the bus), which was one of our favourite days. The hotel itself is simply beautiful, set in stunning gardens and I honestly can't understand any negative reviews. It was the best bathroom I've experienced in Greek accommodation and the air con was good too. On the subject of the aircraft noise, this wasn't ever a problem. There is the odd plane, that is gone in ten seconds and no different to the larger hotels near Rhodes Town. It certainly didn't effect our sleep at all. Plenty of free sunbeds around the pool and we never had a problem finding them at any time in the day. The pool area is clean, peaceful and relaxing. The beach is breezy but still lovely to swim in the sea and watch the amazing wind surfers. There is a charge for sunbeds. Take swim shoes to get in the water over the stones. We enjoyed the barbecue night at the hotel. Plenty of food and all served quickly. We adored the owners two dogs and of course the cats. I would highly recommend this family run, beautiful Greek hotel/apartments and would definitely return in the future.

Our party of four (two couples) has been travelling around the Greek Islands together since 1999, so we have a good understanding of what to expect from Greek 3-star accommodation. We return home 3 days ago after spending two wonderful weeks at the Filoxenia Hotel Apartments, we can honestly say this has been one of the most enjoyable and relaxing holidays we’ve had, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. From the moment we arrived, Nicos and Evangelia made us feel genuinely welcome. They are warm, friendly and incredibly accommodating hosts who simply couldn’t do enough to ensure every guest enjoyed the best, safest and most relaxing holiday possible. Any minor issue we raised was dealt with promptly, professionally and with a smile. I found that approaching Nicos and his staff politely and respectfully created an excellent rapport throughout our stay. In my experience, if you treat people with courtesy and respect, you’ll receive exactly the same in return. Reading some of the previous negative reviews genuinely surprised us because they simply didn’t reflect our experience. We found the owners and their staff to be hardworking, approachable and completely committed to making everyone’s stay enjoyable. Sometimes a little self-reflection might be worthwhile before criticising people who are clearly working exceptionally hard. The entire team deserves enormous credit. Georgia, Vasilis, Zdenka, Ina and Mike looked after us brilliantly every single day. They were friendly, engaging and always happy to chat, laugh and share a joke, making us feel more like friends than customers. By the end of our holiday, we genuinely didn’t want to leave. The kitchen also deserves special recognition. Every meal we ordered was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious. In our opinion, they serve some of the best home-cooked style food in Tholos. Across the full two weeks, our group couldn’t fault a single meal. Behind the scenes, the housekeeping team and the maintenance staff work tirelessly to keep everything spotless and well maintained. While guests are relaxing around the pool, enjoying the bar or making use of the facilities, these hardworking people are constantly ensuring the hotel remains clean, tidy and welcoming. Their efforts are easy to overlook but are very much appreciated. One comment I’d like to address concerns previous claims that the swimming pool wasn’t cleaned. During our stay, Gregori was cleaning the pool every morning before 8:00 am, ensuring it was spotless before guests arrived for it opening at 8:30. We witnessed this ourselves almost every day. As for the accommodation itself, anyone familiar with Greek 3-star hotels will appreciate the quality on offer. Our apartment was clean, comfortable and well equipped, with efficient air conditioning, a safety deposit box, hairdryer, kettle and two-ring hob. The bathroom was similar in size to many we’ve experienced elsewhere in Greece and featured a proper corner shower cubicle with an adjustable mixer shower that allowed precise temperature control—certainly not the limited arrangement suggested in one previous review. Each apartment has a generous balcony. Yes, neighbouring balconies are visible, but that’s exactly what you’d expect in a complex of this design. Jet2 clearly describes the property as having three accommodation blocks with adjoining studios and apartments, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. It’s also worth remembering that the Filoxenia owners cannot control local bus services, bus temperatures or the number of restaurants and bars in Tholos. The village is intentionally quiet, and that’s exactly why we chose it. We researched the area before travelling, knew precisely what to expect and found it perfect for a peaceful, relaxing holiday. For us, the Filoxenia Hotel Apartments is exactly what a Greek holiday should be—friendly, authentic, relaxed and exceptional value for money. Nicos, Evangelia and their wonderful team have created something very special, and we left feeling we’d made new friends rather than simply stayed in a hotel. Thank you, Nicos, Evangelia, Georgia, Vasilis, Zdenka, Ina, Mike, Gregori and the entire Filoxenia team for making our holiday so memorable. We can’t wait to return.

“Fabulous, friendly place”

Rooms are spotless and well appointed for the size. All you need big bed clean sheets good pillows, descent shower etc. clean floors tiles, even has a greek colour code, blue and White inside and out. also didn't find one bug or ant in my room. Aircon comes at a small cost but you will be sorry if you don't,well worth it, blows out like a freezer. The restaurant slash bar has a very good menu, cooked to order, and I after say better than the bars you have to walk to. This place is very good if your a solo traveller it's not overwhelming it's not full of kids running around.great place if you want a week on your own. Two pools if you like, for me it was the beach. Plenty of mini markets on the way to beach. The staff. restaurant,bar or kitchen are great seem to all chip in when needed, like a greek family. Also a shout out for the cleaning staff for cleaning my room. You can tell this greek family take pride in there home. and am glad I stayed. (Bus stop outside 3 euros to rhodes. About 30min walk to beach were there is a cafe. For me it's a quiet piece of rhodes) For a so-called 3* I could not find a bad point, not for me to return. See you next year....
