“Holiday in Rhodes town”

Very clean and friendly hotel, breakfast was good, helpful staff. Good size rooms cleaned daily would recommend staying. Close to all amenities and only 9 mins from old town. Pool area is good with towels supplied for sun loungers. Small inside bar.

Spent my first holiday in seven years at this hotel in Rhodes, and I am very happy with the choice I made. Booked it through Jet2 on a bed-and-breakfast package; it's a 3*, so I wasn't expecting super-duper-luxurious, and that was fine. It's a great base. The location is on a quietish one-way street with lovely buildings lining it - I caught all the springtime blooms, which was very pretty. It's near a number of local restaurants, so you're spoilt for choice when looking for good lunch and dinner options. It's five to eight minutes' walk down to that beautiful seafront, and it's also at a central point where you can walk to the magnificent harbour and Old Town in about ten minutes. The rooms are basic, but clean. The breakfast buffets are unspectacular, but widely varied and tasty, and will set you up for the day. The pool area is quite nice - the pool itself is pretty decent, and it's a good spot to catch the sun on the loungers. Only downside is that the sides of the hotel are a bit of a wind-trap, so the loungers by the ends of the pool get a fair bit of breeze. Best of all, I had great service. I suffered the misfortune of my mobile phone breaking (which, in this day and age, can cause a ton of problems), and the reception staff were nothing but friendly, helpful, and resourceful in helping me book tours or finding my way around. I plan to go back to Rhodes at some point, to see all the stuff I missed. If I'm still on a budget by that time, I will most certainly choose the Downtown Angela again.

We had lovely week at this hotel. Buffet breakfast was served in the Angela Hotel which was a pleasant surprise as it had been advertised that we had to go to a neighbouring hotel to eat. Good selection of hot and cold foods, with a slight varaition each day. The pool was clean and quiet (10-17th April), and the loungers were very comfy. The room was a good size. We had tea & coffee making facilities, a fridge, and a safe. The bed was sooo comfy. Blackout curtains on the main windows were great to keep out the light and the heat. Unfortunately the glass panelling between the bathroom and bedroom still meant you had alot of light in the morning (we blocked this out with spare pillows on the bathroom window). As a city hotel, it was more suited to adults. The entrance was accessed by half a dozen steps, and although there may have been ramped access at the back to ground floor rooms (and reception via the breakfast room), I am not sure this is a wheelchair friendly hotel. A short walk to the beaches, Old Town, and all the restaurants - a great location. The weather was perfect and due to the timing of Orthodox and Christian Easter holidays, Rhodes was quieter than it normally is at this time of the year so a few businesses were not yet open which meant the place wasn't rammed with tourists and we had a great trip.

Nice rooms with great views - clean and plenty of space, with a hairdryer, safe and a fridge too which was a nice touch. Nice rooms with great views - clean and plenty of space, with a hairdryer, safe and a fridge too which was a nice touch. Breakfast was of a good standard - choice from continental but also some cooked food too. Limited choice for vegetarians or vegans in terms of cooked food ie no vegetarian sausages. Overall I enjoyed my stay despite one thing which let it down (not really the fault of the hotel, more so the arrangement in place). Due to building works, the gym was out of use which we had been informed of before coming - Jet2 informed us of this and said that there would be a shuttle to take us to and from the hotel to a sister hotel about 15 minutes away. We arranged with reception easily and were taken to the sister hotel. We used the gym and arrived at the reception at the agreed time. A black van with the sister hotel logo (same as before) pulls up but the driver says ours will be along in 10 minutes. Another one comes along but people get out and the driver says the van is not for us but instead for a group going to the airport. He then contacts his supervisor and says that we have to wait half an hour to be taken back to the hotel. Really just not convenient at all - we should have been given a drink or something while we waited. I just don’t understand how you can get something like that so wrong and not even offer us compensation for it. If anyone is travelling whilst these building works are still happening I would just say it isn’t worth it. The gym wasn’t even good and it was just such a faff on.
