Our family just returned from a week at Mango Creek Resort, and it truly exceeded every expectation we had. We chose Mango Creek for my husband to pursue his dream of catching a permit on a fly rod, along with the exciting possibility of completing a grand slam (permit, tarpon, and bonefish). What we didn’t expect was how incredible of a family vacation it would turn out to be as well. We were looking for the quieter side of the island—less touristy, but still with access to snorkeling and activities and Mango Creek delivered perfectly. The resort is a family owned, all-inclusive experience that feels incredibly personal and welcoming. While my husband spent his days out on the flats fly fishing, my kids and I enjoyed everything the resort had to offer. We used the kayaks and paddle boards and snorkeled at the coral reef right by the resort. One of our favorite days was a guided excursion exploring the east end of the island. Snorkeling with stingrays and nurse sharks, swimming around an old boat wreck, and having lunch on a secluded beach. It was unforgettable. The snorkeling was absolutely incredible. We saw squirrel fish, queen angelfish, a spotted eagle ray, barracuda, and so many other vibrant fish and coral. Every stop felt like a new underwater world to explore. What made the experience even better were our guides, Jimbo (a local to the island) and Pancho. They were incredibly knowledgeable and made the whole day feel relaxed, safe, and fun. Their hospitality and passion for the island truly added to the experience and made it one we’ll never forget. But what truly made this trip special was the care from the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. From our bungalow to guided hikes through the national wildlife refuge behind the resort, every experience felt special. The night hikes were a huge hit with my 6 yr old, we loved spotting all kinds of creatures together Each morning, we woke up and swam in the ocean right off our deck before enjoying a delicious local meal. The food was actually my 12-year-old’s favorite part—fresh seafood, lobster, snapper, and so many great options every day. Everything about our stay felt easy, comfortable, and thoughtfully done. My son gave Mango Creek “infinite stars,” and honestly, we agree. Will and Sophia have created something truly special in Roatán, and we are already planning our return

Mango Creek Resort is truly one of those rare places that feels like a hidden paradise. From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and welcoming. The boat transfer into Port Royal Harbor set the tone immediately, with incredible views and a sense that you’re escaping into something special. Food: The food was outstanding throughout our stay. Every meal felt fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. There was a great balance of local island flavors and comforting favorites, and the quality was consistently impressive. Meals became something we looked forward to every day. Accessibility & Ease of Travel: Despite feeling completely secluded and peaceful, getting to the resort was surprisingly easy. The team coordinated pickup and transportation so smoothly that the entire journey felt effortless. Once there, everything is organized and relaxed, allowing you to truly disconnect. Natural Beauty: The setting is absolutely breathtaking. The resort is surrounded by lush green hills and calm, clear water that changes color throughout the day. Whether you’re watching the sunrise from your bungalow, kayaking through the harbor, or simply relaxing by the water, the scenery feels untouched and tranquil. Lodging: The over water bungalows are incredible. Comfortable, private, and beautifully situated right over the water, they offer a perfect balance of rustic charm and modern comfort. Waking up to the sound of the water and stepping outside to those views is something you don’t forget. What makes Mango Creek Resort special is the atmosphere. It feels intimate, peaceful, and genuinely welcoming. It’s the kind of place where you can completely unwind, enjoy nature, and still have access to amazing activities like fishing, boating, and diving. “Almost too good to be true”

Mango Creek is such a gem. The new owners have an amazing vision for this quiet, secluded eco resort. It's off the grid, you can only get there by boat, and it backs up to a national park. It's so peaceful, so secluded. We spent our days strolling the grounds, admiring the lush foliage, hiking up the hills behind the resort, snorkeling in the waters right off our dock (there was some excellent coral and colorful fish right under our bungalow), kayaking to a nearby island for some truly amazing snorkeling, and enjoying freshly prepared meals at the restaurant. Our stay included 3 meals a day, and Ruby's cooking was uniformly excellent. Will and Sophia were excellent hosts, full of ideas and suggestions, and they joined us every day for happy hour at the restaurant before dinner. I can't remember a more peaceful and relaxing week. Mango Creek is a true eco resort. It's off the grid, and a new solar power system is being installed. The water comes from a spring on the property. And every decision that is made takes into account the preservation of the land and the waters. It is a bit rustic, but that's part of its charm. We had everything we needed, and, if we'd chosen to, we could have booked more extensive adventures—diving, fishing, snorkeling. But we were content to sit on the deck overlooking the ocean, to take a dip when it got too warm, to enjoy snorkeling at nearby Cow and Calf Island (where we saw lots of fish but no other humans), to identify birds in the trees around the property, to watch the sunset and then enjoy a cold beer at the end of the day. This was one of the best vacations of our lives, and we can't thank the team at Mango Creek enough.
