Myself, my partner & two friends stayed at this wonderful hotel August/September 2020 for 10 nights. This is a family run hotel in Capo Vaticano & they really treat you as special guests. Even completing our Government Covid forms with us. The hotel is very clean inside & out. Warm showers, comfortable beds. The views are amazing & on a clear day you can see Sicily. The breakfast is a lovely selection & evening meals are the best, serving local fresh food, cooked to perfection. Local wine is very good too. We have stated in other hotels in the area, but this is the best. Cannot wait to return. Thank you all so much & loved celebrating my birthday with you. Grazie Mille x

if you are looking for a vacation in paradise, with great food, immaculate and beautiful hotel with garden and amazing pool , the warmest hospitality and friendly atmosphere and extremely clean, you definitively have to go to HOTEL GATTOPARDO at capo vaticano in Calabria! Especially now during the COVID 19 situation. They do everything possible to stick to the rules and keep you healthy! The entire family welcomes you with open arms! such a wunderful cuisine, with fresh local food, every day a large number of choices what to eat ! absolutely worthwhile to book half board! excellent breakfast with local products such as fruits, tomatoes eggs homemade marmelade! Friendly and warm people taking care of you! do not hesitate and book Hotel Gattopardo!! a big thank you ❤️to Mama, Ariadna, Lucia, Michela, Daniela and Tomasso! My husband and I spent a week in hotel Il Gattopardo. I must say that we were really surprised, the hotel was very-very clean, the territory is green, full of tropical trees and plants. The stuff is helpful and friendly, they advised us a destinations to travel and car rent services. Tropea is only 8 km from the hotel and is highly recommended to visit! The hotel also provided visitors with a shuttle bus to the beach Grotticelle, which was convenient, since the way to the sea takes you 15 min (1,2 km approximately). And the dinners... they were fantastic! The dinners were served and you may order from the many 3 courses. Calabrian food is delicious 😋 So, to sum up I highly recommend this hotel and Capo Vaticano 😊

We just spent a few weeks at this family run hotel in Capo Vaticano. Possibly had the best room in the house, #12, third floor s/w corner overlooking an incredible pool, gardens and sea. The hotel is immaculately clean, modern and well organized. Run by a friendly husband/wife team with their 3 daughters who also speak some English. Fresh towels daily, maid service was first rate. Fridge in room, Sat TV. All cooking is done by wife with kitchen help...menu limited, but always a choice of 4 or 5 pastas (first plate), then another 4 or 5 fish and meat entrees (second plate). All is fresh, plentiful, authentic and tasty. Stick with the grilled or whole fish choices...different every day. I don't recall the menu ever repeating itself. Vegetables are rare, but always a mixed salad on menu with olive oil and wine vinegar. Drinks are extra, but cold and inexpensive...half liter beer is €2, full liter is €3.50, Coke is €2, large bottled water is €2, good house wine is €8 per liter, €4 per half. Bottled wine list available from their own vineyard. Dessert was always good and refreshing. On the downside, dining room is not climate controlled except for open doors and windows, and some nights it was stifling! Service is unbelievably quick! Breakfast is also limited and repetitive, but plentiful: fresh croissants and rolls, salami, cheese, tomatoes, eggs, cakes, cookies, cereal, yogurt, juice, etc. The best homemade jams you will ever taste are also available for purchase. Safe in room was free, wi-fi €15 a week, good coverage in rooms and pool area. Hotel shuttle to and from beach in passenger van from 9 to 10, then at 12, 4 and 7...as many trips as needed. You can easily walk to beach (1 km), but return is uphill! Hotel chairs and umbrella included...WARNING: beach is noisy and crazy crowded, but beautiful. Water calm, not even a ripple, some sea urchins, wear slippers. 2 restaurants on beach...every imaginable water toy available for rent. The small town is 50 meters from the hotel, and cafes, pizzerias, bars and markets are a minute's walk. You will find mostly Italian clientele here, almost all of them repeats...plus a few Germans and Czechs from tours. But, If you truly want a relaxing, quiet vacation away from the maddening, all-inclusive mass tourism resorts, we could not recommend a better place. We will probably return off-season, when the weather is cooler.
