The Solmaris is a beautifully appointed hotel with every amenity you could want. We stayed for 10 nights in June and loved everything about the hotel, it's location, the room, the facilities, the staff, the breakfast, the rooftop terrace, it was all more than we'd hoped for and we'd definitely stay again if we return to Tropea. Top tips: Book direct for the best price. There's free underground parking. Take a taxi to the train station if you have luggage.

We had a wonderful stay at Solmaris Tropea and would happily recommend it to others. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and, without a doubt, one of the cleanest hotels we have ever stayed in. Our room was modern, spacious, and very well maintained, with a large bathroom and incredibly comfortable beds. Housekeeping did an excellent job every day, and we always returned to a spotless room. The staff were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, and the breakfast was fantastic. There was a great selection each morning, and the offerings changed slightly from day to day, which was a nice touch. The location is also excellent. It is about a 7 minute walk to the beach and only about 4 minutes from the main square, making it easy to explore Tropea on foot. There were a few downsides that kept this from being a 5 star stay. The hotel does not have a gym, which would have been a nice amenity. We also found the assigned seating at breakfast a bit strange. We were assigned the same table each day based on our room, which felt unnecessary and a little uncomfortable from a privacy perspective. The hotel can also be quite noisy. It sits on a street corner, and motorcycles could often be heard late into the evening. While that is not the hotel's fault, providing earplugs in the rooms would be a thoughtful addition. We could also hear dishes and cutlery being moved around in the breakfast area from our room early in the morning. Overall, however, this is a fantastic hotel. The cleanliness, comfortable rooms, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, and convenient location far outweighed the negatives. We would definitely stay here again.
