Beautiful location. Spacious, lovely rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good food. Many beautiful places to see around if you have a car. Or you can go with your tour agent. My favourite were the Eolian islands. You will An amazing view of Stromboli vulcano. Would love to come back.

In short, hotel is in a good location, very clean, 300 m from the railway station Zambrone and stores. Closest city is Tropea, and you can reach it by train in 10-15 min. Tropea is very nice city, mixture of old and new, full of shops and restaurants, where you can enjoy tasting traditional Italian food. The hotel is composed of several buildings, which have been positioned in cascades towards the sea. the sea view of the Zambrone bay, from the balcony is magnificant, and when the weather is good you can see the Stromboli vulcano as well. hotel staff is very polite, food is very tasty. for breakfast you have a typical Italian buffet, not too many things, mainly based on backery, ham, cheese and cerials. For lunch and dinner, you can pick two dishes from the menu that changes daily. First one (starter) is usually pasta and second one (main course) is some dish with meat, fish or else. water and wine (white and red) are included in price, and for everything else you must pay separately. For lunch and dinner is also available buffet with salads and cold dishes, but the quantities are limited and if you don’t come on the beginning of meal, you won’t have a large choice. My biggest disappointment was fact that during the meals you don’t have the selection of fresh fruits. The swimming pool is small but very nice and clean, with large part adapted for children. Beach is around 500 m from hotel, and hotel provided the electric car which goes every few minutes from the hotel to the beach for free. The beach is partly sandy, partly with gravells, and large part of the beach is reserved for hotel guests with free umbrelas and sunbeads.

I wanted to love this place but after 10 days was just picking up negatives. If you have any slight mobility issues , be warned, a room in the main hotel is a much better option . Yes there is an efficient golf buggy shuttle service but it doesn't start until 8 am and ends at 8pm with 2 hours off in the middle of the day What was good . The large rooms, bathrooms and balcony A drying rack on the balcony. The stunning view. The regular Shuttle service . The pool, ideal for me as I can't use the ladders to get in and out. But gentle steps made it easy. The round shower , seems silly but it made a good shower space. Breakfast was ok, not special but acceptable , however there was room for improvement. The big verandah . A reasonable sized fridge. The spotless communal areas. Effective intelligent air conditioning and security system. Intelligent lift that allows you to get fully in the lift before closing doors What could be improved. Avoid serving tinned fruit at breakfast, up the road is a large stall selling a whole selection of fresh fruit. More coffee machines to avoid long queues. No beach/pool towels unless you hire one fór 4 Euros a day or 21 Euros a week ! Is this common in 4 * hotels.. I think not. Severe warnings of dire consequences if you take a hotel towel outside . No tea making facility in the rooms until I requested a kettle and was provided with a neat one, but no cups or spoons. Nowhere to get a cooked snack at lunch. Fortunately the neighbouring hotel had a lovely beach restaurant and they were willing to accept pay as you go customers. Just check the time and don't miss the shuttle, it is a long steep walk or many steps in a hot mid day sun or a long wait. But the main improvement for me would need to be the food. I found Dinner to be very inspiring. The starter/ sides menu was ok just strange. It was more like a mains buffet with mediocre platters of food . The chips were cold by the time the mains came out and the salad offering was minimal The night before you were expected to choose your pasta course and/or a choice of 2 other mains . Good luck if you are veggie. Pasta with cherry toms was your only option some nights or back to the buffet . Several nights I could not be inspired by what turned out to be like school dinners from the 70s . (Thankfully they have improved and some dinners are exceptionally good in the schools I worked in ). We had thought we could venture out óne or 2 nights but it was either quite a walk in the dark on a busy road or they were not open for the season yet. All the food was edible just not great ingredients or skilled cooking. I buy better fresh pasta at home than that which was served every night and then you had to ask for parmesan to give the dish some flavour. Desserts were bought in mainly and similarly bland apart from the semi fredo. We asked if Gelato was an option as one lady on a special diet seems to have enjoyed that but a firm NO to that. A fruit platter or Creme caramel would have been preferable to some of the synthetic rum Baba flavours with a false cream . So múch was sent back barely touched. The wine with the meal wasn't to my liking but we were never offered a wine list yet many bottles were on display. In the end I did not feel up to explaining what I wanted to be charged a lot of money. The table water was very good. No sarcasm intended, it was my drink of choice. Yes I am a foodie and did feel cheated . I could find something on the buffet even if it was pizza and chips so I was never hungry just glad to get dinner over with and leave the old fashioned dinning room. I would have liked to sit on the verandah and enjoyed a drink in the twilight but unfortunately there never seems to have been staff running the bar so another up selling opportunity was lost. There was no entertainment day or night as I think that started mid June so no reason to linger downstairs. So in one sentence, a quiet restful holiday but left feeling disappointed with the food. I have produced better Italian cuisine myself or with the aid of M and S .

This Hotel has a beautiful beach, but unfortunately also has a mad Lifeguard on the beach, who poisons the mood of the guests. He not only discriminates between Italian and International guests, but also loudly quarrels with international guests and regulates them constantly and angrily with his 10 words English vocabulary. Angrily drags ladies' sunbed out of shadow to the sunshine, - several times per day!!! Closes the umbrellas, while dresses are hanging under it. And what is the most outrageous; guests have to walk to the next public beach if they wanted to swim in the sea, because mad man just cannot stop blowing his whistle. Definitely he has no clue, what would be his job. I have never ever experienced similar to this.
