I miss our stay along The Amalfi Coast so much! We stayed at L'Eco dell'800 through our Cooking Vacations tour and had an amazing time! The view is breathtaking and Irma was a most gracious and knowledgeable chef from which we learned so much. By the time our stay ended, we felt like family. We had drivers during our tour which we were grateful for given the narrow, windy roads (we could sit back and enjoy the views!) but we did see the bus running quite a bit and the fares were very reasonable to get to the neighboring towns. Don't miss walking to the nearby Marisa Cuomo Winery, pottery shop and restaurant at Hotel Bacco up the hill and down the road! An excellent choice to stay if you want your main focus to be the surrounding countryside and a place of solitude away from all the tourists.

I found Irma through Cooking Vacations. My week included a full itinerary of cooking classes, food tours, swimming and meeting amazing people. The BnB is set in on the steep coastline, with beautiful views of the sea. With one main road up and down it is a simple 2€ bus to Amalfi where boats be take you anywhere on the coast line. With my Free time limited inbetween tours and classes I hired a scooter for a week and could be swimming within 25mins. Irma has a strong passion for food and making her guest feel welcome. It was an absolute privilege to learn from her in the kitchen and something I will never forget. Pasta/ langostine/ deserts I will be cooking for the rest of my life. Unforgettable experience in paradise.

We experienced a little difficulty finding the place but local signs to L'ECO DELL '800 would have got us there pretty easily. Not sure why we weren't looking for that address. However, messaging our host, Irma, soon sorted that out and she came and found us. The room was just what we wanted and the views from the balcony out over the sea and over the coastline were really something to write home about. All the facilities and amenities were fine apart from niggling problems with WiFi. Having said that, we didn't even try turning the TV on - there seemed no need! Irma's breakfast were subtly varied from day to day but never failed to please and her advice about where to go, how to get here and how to get the best out of the locality was absolutely invaluable. Do try the local eateries and the food store down by the church - the people there are just great and so helpful. My two must do things in Amalfi would be 1. the Lemon tour and meetings trip - that was absolutely amazing: interesting, informative, entertaining, tasty, and a great way to spend a couple of hours 2. a boat trip to the local Grotte: also a pretty incredible experience with its natural blue light coming in from the sea outside and cathedral-like space inside with stalactites and stalagmites all over the place. Brilliant! A bit of a surprise at the end too! All in all a great location, a great host, a great place to have a holiday.

Naturally this stay was lit up by the incredible views and scenery that the Amalfi offers, but that shouldn't overshadow what was a very good B&B anyway. From the very start this was a great experience. Irma and her sister were very helpful in being there for us to check in at a time that suited us and the room that we were given was absolutely fantastic. No need to mention the view anymore really, but the room was spacious, comfortable, attractive and had a fantastic bathroom and shower. Really couldn't ask for more. Breakfast was plentiful, varied and high quality, with more of that view ;) Minor quibbles were seriously minor. The few times we did sit and watch TV the signal wasn't great and occasionally cut out. The surrounding area isn't blessed with lots of restaurant/eating options, so you'd best be bringing a car, but the roads to get to the parking can get pretty narrow if you're bringing a larger than average vehicle. Also it was the most expensive place we stayed in, but for the Amalfi it was seriously good value. Highly recommended!
