I can't say enough about this hidden gem! The kind and attentive staff, including the owner Luigi and his wife, made our trip so amazing and memorable! Starting from day 1, when the airline lost my suitcase, everyone at the hotel went out of their way to help,and asked if I needed anything until my suitcase arrived. After the 2nd day, with no word on my suitcase, they even went so far as to contact the airport for me and speak with them in Italian, demanding to know what was being done to get me my luggage. As for the hotel property...the location is perfect! It is a 10 minute walk to the nearby town and 20 minute downhill walk to San Angelo, a must-see little ocean- front town. If you like wineries, you can walk 15 minutes to Casa D'Ambra, which was recommended to us by the hotel. You are taken up the mountain to see their vineyards, with a breath-taking view of the ocean, then back down for a tour of their wine production, culminating in the delicious wine tasting. For those of you who like to explore the island, there is a convenient bus stop just outside the hotel entrance. What strikes you as soon as you enter the property is how unexpectedly beautiful the grounds are...entrance, gardens, and thermal pool. The lobby offers a sitting area with a cute bar which is open in the evening. There is also a covered outdoor area with a pool view, where you can have your coffee or breakfast , or just read a book. The rooms are spacious enough for Europe, and kept clean every day. We were lucky enough to have been on the 3rd floor, with a balcony and view of the town and the ocean in the distance. Be aware, though, that there are no elevators. The steps wide and easy to climb, so we didn't mind the exercise! Our package included the Poseidon Thermal Spa day pass, which is REALLY worth doing. Also included was a buffet breakfast and à la carte supper everyday, and although there was a 'seating time' and menu choice to be made for the supper each morning, they were very accommodating to our schedule, as we often strolled in late after a day of sight-seeing. The selection of food for breakfast was really good, but did not change. Supper offered an appetizer/ salad bar of sorts, a 2- course meal with options at each course, and a dessert choice. Our only wish was to have had more variety of vegetables with supper and more salad options to start. I would again like to thank everyone at Hotel San Nicola who made our stay perfect! The owner, Luigi, was visiting that week with his wife and they made us feel like we were being welcomed into their own home. This hospitality was by far, the best I've ever experienced in all my travels. The hotel, albeit ranked as a 3-31/2*, is far beyond that based on everything we experienced, and especially the value for what we spent. We would definitely recommend this hotel Marianne and sister, Astrid.

My stay was truly enjoyable and went beyond expectations. The hotel’s location is simply remarkable, and what impressed me most was the genuine kindness of the staff. A special mention goes to one team member whose courteous manners and constant support made a real difference throughout the stay. The property is clearly in a phase of transformation, which is perceptible in its structure, yet the spaces remain warm and welcoming, with a refined atmosphere set in a truly unique context. The room was rather small and the furnishings could benefit from some renewal, but it was functional and comfortable nonetheless. Overall, it was a delightful experience—and without hesitation, I would choose to return.

A very attractive Villa/Hotel, safe, secure, quiet and away from other properties. Lovely Spa/pool area with mature vegetation. A local small strip of shops and Bars/Restaruants a walk away. Local buses seem to run constantly. Sant' Angelo to the left and the Natarul Thermal Spa(free, bring water shoes) in the sea at Sorgeto to the right (or boat taxi from San Angelo if the walk, steep hiil climb is too much).
