This hotel is all about the view. Perched atop a cliff with a good clear view of the Med whilst sat on the terrace and the best bit is due to location (yes a little out of the way, 25-30 euro's in a taxi from Forio or St Angelo, verbal prices quoted and paid as meter price one day was 42 euros) the peace and quiet is amazing. There are other properties up on the next hill and occasional dogs barking, but most of the time it's very quiet. Walking to this property from Panza bus stop is not what we tried (the road is twisty and at times no more than a track but very hilly) especially in the current temperatures. Vito or Johnny are more than willing to drop you off to Panza, Poseidon or the main bus stop at various times throughout the day and also collect from there up to a certain time, very helpful and very very appreciated. The staff are very helpful and I can't give them enough credit for all they do to help you enjoy the stay. The hotel is starting to appear dated in some areas but nothing we found affected our stay. I found the bed a little firm, however all hotels seem to have differing ideas on what type of mattress used so no biggy there. There was no fridge in our room which was missed and I would hope they install them as an upgrade especially with the heat they seem to be getting more regularly, really missed being able to have a cold refreshing drink in the middle of the night. The breakfasts are a simple affair and I enjoyed the pastries and coffee. At the moment the greenery has grown to block the view from the breakfast area, which is a shame as it is a good selling point when eating breakfast to look out to a lovely blue sea. The pool although not very large is certainly adequate to cool off in should you have a lazy day at the hotel. However, having done this for two days we realised that it can be a very long day if you have not already stocked up with some food or drink to keep you going throughout the day. This hotel at time of our stay only did breakfasts and a paid aperitif around 18:30hrs if you asked on the terrace. We had a few of those and they were very well priced (beer, prosecco, crisps, dough twists olives and cut meats and cheese). Vito conjured up a bottle of wine, beers or prosecco whenever asked, much appreciated on a hot day. The hotel can arrange deliveries of meals from takeaway places to. We had a pizza delivery one night and it was very good. I was jealous of the wifes fritatina (apologies if spelt wrong), looked very good and must have tasted good as she didn't share. Big question is did it live up to expectations? I would have to say yes it did. Vito, Johnny and the rest of the staff are very customer friendly and have a lot of island knowledge to help you decide where to go or where to eat. We had some cracking meals based on their recommendations and the Portebello in Ischia Porto is also owned by the hotel owner and gives a good discount, helped by serving very nice food with a good marina view. Would I go back again? I would say yes. What we found which is just in general and not hotel related. We stayed July into August 2023, Heat was continuous throughout the day and didn't feel like it dropped much over night. Thankfully not many mosquito's around but those that were found me :-(. We had issues with messaging the hotel when out at night ref pick-up's etc, (due to our network provider and roaming rates etc) having looked in Forio, possibly one in Ischia Porto too or online prior to holiday, worth getting a sim that works there for your phone especially data. Most restaurants are offering free wifi, once you have been there for a meal, don't delete the wifi details. We did initially think of hiring a car or moped, however, the local infrastructure seems to have been outgrown. By this I mean the amount of vehicles driven by everyone who is in a rush, narrow roads, (wing mirror alley we call them at home) cars that look like they are from the scrap heap challenge and almost three mopeds to every pedestrian (or so it seems) there is little space to park a car or even a moped at most areas you wish to visit. The bus is another area where it can seem over run. The app system seemed to give sporadic results to those we saw use it including bus numbers that don't exist, we had a wait of about an hour at one stop on the main road to see four buses go the opposite direction before we had three buses following each other absolutely full and the fourth nearly empty on our side. Timings seemed to be something we could never find that was accurate so if using the bus, relax, grab a tan and enjoy the fresh air and the wait. Once on the bus you will certainly enjoy many differing aromas, not all delightful as it gets busy :-). This review is only what we found and hopefully helps in your choice of place to stay.

This hotel has a certain rustic charm with beautiful views . It’s a little rough around the edges but it’s peaceful and charming Vito the owner who was lovely and took us to the beach & restaurants also happy to collect us at 10.30pm.. he brought us drinks round the pool and also organised food to be delivered at lunchtime . The breakfast was adequate and we really enjoyed our 4 night stay . Made better by having Vito taking care of anything we needed . Would love to go back the island is beautiful and punto azzuro was close to all amenities, but far enough away to be really peaceful great value for money

“Beautiful Vista”

We stayed here for a week and the end of a full sightseeing tour of Italy as we wanted a place to relax in complete peace and quiet. We got it here😀👍. Unfortunately due to the current pandemic the hotel was not fully open so there was no bar or restaurant on site but that did not detract from what we wanted from our stay as Vito our host was on hand with bottles of beer, water and snacks and will recommend and take you to various different restaurants throughout your stay. He will also order you a takeaway to have either in the restaurant area or on your terrace. He even cooked for us when the takeaway we chose was closed due to a family bereavement. Recommended sights to see while you are on Ischia are the castle, gardens of mortella, forio and posidon beach (where vito runs a shuttle to every day) The rooms are spacious and simple and the pool small and cold which is a perfect compliment to the numerous amount of sunbeds located all round the rest of the hotel which is a complete sun trap. I do have to say that due to its location it is designed as a relaxing simple hotel for adults who wish to relax and is not geared towards children although families are welcome. All in all a great stay.

We spent six fantastic days in this 3-star hotel situated on a hill and with beautiful panoramic sea view. It's surrounded by green and very quite. The room is big and the bathroom is rather small but sufficient. Beautiful terras with excellent view, very clean swimmingpool. There is no fridge or air conditioning in the room but we got a fan and hired the fridge (this can be rented empty or filled). This place is remote so you need a car, but you can always ask Gabriele or Daniela to drive you wherever you wish (free shuttle). They are were sympathetic young couple who does all for you to feel good. Gabriel's father is excellent cook, they serve fish or meat and all fruit and vegetable comes from their garden. The breakfast is typical sweet one, but if you ask something salty they will offer you some hesp, salami or eggs, nothing is problem. Excellent value for money.
